Turned on Real Madrid game. Goalie sends it out and Ronaldo tried a back heel pass to Marcelo on the outside. It goes out of bounds. He puts his hands up yelling at Marcelo. What a great teammate. He was actually two feet into his defensive half which is the furthest he comes back on defense as well.
they already missed out on Conti,Guerdiola. was never going to be Maurinho.
I saw the young British coach of Bournemouth mentioned, but he may not be big enough name even though he might be well qualified.
similar situation to Giants in one regard: how to choose a winning Coughlin's successor. However, continuity of schemes may matter less in Arsenal's case.

Diego Simeone seems to me to be the perfect replacement. Injects energy, toughness, and already has a built in rivalry with the top managers in England. Though they say he is staying to oversee the new stadium move. So I guess he is out of the running. I read the other day rumors about the Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel to Arsenal. I don't know if that is good enough. He's a good manager but Klopp was better there. I feel like that kind of hire wouldn't do anything really. They'd likely have the same kind of seasons under him they have been having under Wenger.

Simeone would be a good choice. similar to Conti. fiery guy.

I would love Simeone or Allegri. As you said, Simeone would bring a lot of energy and toughness, both desperately needed at Arsenal. Allegri has done well to replace Conte at Juve and brings energy like Simeone. He's also shown a tactical flexibility that Arsenal has not shown under AW.
He supposedly doesn't want to sign a new contract and Conte has been after him for years. I even read he registered on Conte's radar as a youth player when Conte was at Juventus. Probably going to be hard to turn down if Chelsea comes calling. They will be league champions and in the champions league next season.
Wenger with Les Bleus and Pogba + Mourinho + possibly Griezmann at Man U would create a lot of friction
