Jerry Reese attended the Middle Tennessee Pro Day. No shock, since he is from Tennessee. He was there to see CB Jeremy Cutrer. Cutrer is considered to be another Donte Deayon type of corner- tough but undersized. His weight has fluctuated from 168 to 180.
Also, the Giants have an official visit scheduled with Tim White of Arizona State. More of an UDFA type than draft pick, he is an undersized wideout with a pretty outstanding career as a return specialist.
reporting that Minter only got a one year deal from the Bengals.
Zach Brown walked out from his meeting with the Raiders over money. This after leading the NFL in tackles with 149.
The point in this- the secondary marker for linebackers (and running backs) is just not what it is for other positions. Teams are just not spending money there.
That should be good news for the Giants if they are interested in Robinson returning or taking a shot at Brown.
been reported on what Zach Brown is seeking in a contract. Last year he played on a $1,250,000 "show me" deal. He certainly did everything and more, but the difference from his asking price to reality must be the issues-similar to Hankins.
For some perspective, Reese signed the following:
Robinson- 1 year "show me" deal for $2,250,00
Casillas- 3 year $ 8 million
JT Thomeas 3 year $10 million
I assume Brown is looking for more and Robinson will ultimately take less, and the Giants will add 1-2 new names to the roster whether it's through FA or draft prior to the start of training camp. And probably dump JT Thomas.
Brown a three year 18 mil deal and cut JT Thomas saving 3 mil next season. Brown can cover, can tackle, runs sideline to sideline and has legit 4.5 speed. He would lift this defense to new heights
