NFT: 15 moments from 'The Walking Dead' comics that are too dark

JOrthman : 3/19/2017 8:37 am
Found this interesting in how the series took the show in different directions then the comic book. It shouldn't spoil anything as these characters are already dead on the show or clearly they are going in a different direction vs. the comic.

Pretty much the entire Prison story arc

It was absolutely amazing to read in the books and the show version was hot trash
I read somewhere they originally tried to get it on HBO

However, HBO turned it down supposedly because it was too violent/graphic. This doesn't really make sense based on a lot of other shows they've produced. Maybe their original scripts were much worse. I think one of the biggest things they messed up is the Governor. In the comics completely sadistic and evil and on TV he was more tragic.

I'm all for trashing the show, but it still amazes me their are people older than teenagers who still read comics.

Haha, there's a ton of people I know who are still really into comics. They are darker now with more serious content. TWD, Preacher, and a bunch of others tackle some really heavy stuff. I read maybe the first 30 issues of TWD back in 2012-ish. I've been wanting to pick it back up but haven't had the time.

3 guys in my office alone are massive comic book fans. I never knew how popular it was until I started working at my current company.
Haha, I'm just being a jerk
