I haven't watched a whole lot of his game, but I liked the way he looked in the limited action I've seen. And FB is one of the roles he's filled in the past.
Since I'm always passionately interested in RB's, I've been wondering what the Giants plan for their squad. While I know some have stated that a short yardage specialist isn't needed for carries, I don't necessarily agree. And as I and others have conjectured, I don't really see anyone on the roster well suited for that role. I had been hoping for someone like Perine in the 4th, and still think that would pay dividends. But I also acknowledge that a first round pick like McCarthy, or a higher round pick of a similar RB also has appeal.
Nothing the Giants do regarding a RB in the draft would surprise me as I've not liked quite a few of their choices. But if Ellison is truly a viable alternative for short yardage carries, maybe another more lightly built back like McCarthy, or others, then makes a lot more sense for the Giants.
If I have to guess what the Giants will do about RB in the draft, my guess is either a late round pick, or UDFA, unless someone they have extremely highly rated drops.
sign hankins and Blount
draft in order

Maybe they should line Fluker up in the backfield and see if he can pick up the first down?
Yeah, some Irish guy! ;-)
