LB Keenan Robinson had a visit with the Bills, per league source. He posted 83 tackles for the Giants in 2016.
Looks like he isn't coming back.

If he isn't re-signed, he needs to be replaced by a good player..
Giving $2mm to Geno

Re-signing Herzlich, this resource could be put to use signing Robinson.

The only thing I am think of is numbers were discussed, Reese gave him an offer, he is shopping it ala Hankins.

I think the Giants seen enough of that jacked up Shoulder

To know wether its worth the risk again or not. And i guess they think its not. Could be dead wrong but thats what i think.
With JPP's extension

and JT Thomas still on the roster, I doubt the money will prevent the Giants from bringing back Robinson - at least, as far as he meets their value. If he prices himself above what the Giants do, he'll probably be gone. But I don't think the issue will be that the Giants don't have the $2-$3M or so against the cap Robinson probably takes - just cut Thomas, who I assume is only waiting for a physical so the Giants can cut him.
Though I agree

I don't much see the point of signing Geno...$2M isn't that much, but doubt he plays much, he has no trade value (and barring a miracle, won't), and it's not like they signed him to stash him for the future. Eli has been so solid injury wise I doubt Geno plays - and we had just brought back Johnson who learned under Eli last year. I'm not sure that Geno would be that much a better option if Eli did go down, so just don't really see what he adds. That $2M could be put to better use (even just rolling it over to next year).

I get Herz tho - he's a good ST player, and brings some solid value there (some guys need to play ST, and it's worth it to devote a few spots to primarily ST guys, over depth guys who likely stay inactive on gameday). Plus it's probably a pretty small contract with minimal cap impact (not much more than vet min probably).
This is why

I think the Giants may spend early round picks on an OLB to go with DT and CB.

Need a quality player to help replace Hankins

Need a quality player to help replace DRC who is trending down and on his last contract year

Need a quality player to help replace Robinson, Casillas who may trend down, and JT Thomas who hasn't panned out

Have to keep a top 5 defense a top five defense again

I'll add if one isn't it's a step back for the defense.

had 1 of the best years he's ever had ... Jenkins/DRC/Apple is as good a trio as any in football
Reese was at Vanderbilt Pro Day

Cunningham is a long athlete in the Leonard Floyd mold although more of a traditional 3 down LB and not an edge guy. He could play Mike or Will from day one. I like Robinson but there is a chance he has a large asking price.
