He probably doesnt want to sign a longer deal.. 30 is like the death blow to most players.. he can be under 30 and still get a deal.. Plus he has only been healthy one year..
Exactly what we expected as far as the money.

Player hoping two straight productive, healthy seasons will earn him a better deal next year.

JT Thomas is likely to last through camp as a hedge against Robinson getting injured. Similar player with similar skills.
All these signings to me seems to imply Hankins isn't coming back

I know we could make room for him, but it just seems odd the timing went 'Hankins, make up your damn mind' and then a bunch of players get signed.
Nice..

Was hoping it was only a 1 year deal. I just dont trust him staying healthy enough for a long term deal.

There were rumors last week that the Giants were simply waiting until JTT could pass a physical before releasing him.

Maybe, but aside from KR, most of the signings were for the minimum (or close to it). And if JTT is cut at some point, his savings should mostly cover the cost of KR so they'd still have plenty of the space created from the JPP extension to use for Hankins.

If true, I would hope they'd give Odrick a look-see

Did you see the Raanan Tweet today:

Johnathan Hankins next? Optimism increasing in recent days. #Giants

He was 50-50 two days ago. So, this implies to me that Raanan thinks Hankins will be signed.

Not me. I was very wary of giving a guy with his injury history a multi-year deal.
steep. but at least just 1 yr

I'll take a year of Kawika Mitchell impact.
Pierce at his brief prime was a pro bowler.

I'd be fine if KR just played like he did last year. He's young enough that maybe you can wish for him to be a late bloomer, but it seems unlikely.
