Michael Boley in his prime, on this roster would be nasty

DennyInDenville : 3/21/2017 3:34 pm
Just thinking a guy like him in his prime would have been allpro in this D last year imo

Guy was 6-3 235+ with insane speed and would cover/blitz great and behind this line would dominate

Boley has been the best Giants linebacker since 2007 imo

He was a Priceline rich version of Casillas who's a broke mans Boley but still extremely serviceable
yes, and that whole offensive

line on this team would have taken them to the super bowl...
Boley was mean too
DennyInDenville : 3/21/2017 3:36 pm : link
Guy was just mean as hell and would kill Qbs like romo

Boley hit on Romo was the end of romo
Holy Boley overrating

LOL.. cmon.

I actually liked Boley a lot. But you're turning him into Lawrence Taylor here. Robinson isn't far off from Boley.

pjcas18 : 3/21/2017 4:06 pm : link
lost his starting LB spot to a backup DB.

I liked him, thought on the Giants he fit in well, but he was a LB who needed a DL that was as fierce as the Giants to keep the undersized LB's clean.

Go with Doc Brown
Unemployable : 3/21/2017 4:06 pm : link
and come back with Bart Oates, Chris Snee, Jumbo Elliott, Rosey Brown, Rodney Hampton, Mark Bavaro, The Giff, Tuck, Strahan, Carl Banks, Harry Carson, LT, and....The Hammer all in their prime. We should win a couple more Super Bowls with Eli then.
How about a

Was thinking the same thing.

Although, there is one thing Boley could do that Robinson can't do...

Agreed.
When I think of a former Giants LB is his prime to add to this D
Giants Fan in Steelers Land : 3/21/2017 4:56 pm : link
I immediately think Boley.

on this defense is the coverage LBer who can play in the flat and run the seam.

Boley is that dude.

-Keenan Robinson
Barrett Green

watching from the sidelines really would have been something.
Armstead
aquidneck : 3/21/2017 5:59 pm : link
would be awesome too.
Michael Boley........Or
NYG27 : 3/21/2017 6:14 pm : link
Lawrence Taylor
Harry Carson
Carl Banks
Sam Huff
Jessie Armstead
Antonio Pierce
Pepper Johnson

Those are some former Giants LBers that come to mind in their prime that would also be nasty on this current roster before I would ever think of Michael Boley.

Yeah -- off-season football talk around here
mattlawson : 3/21/2017 6:39 pm : link
Charming shit
LBs like Boley, Kennard and Robinson are just average/solid
est1986 : 3/21/2017 6:58 pm : link
In recent years we have had too many JAG LBs to name.. Point is we havent had a real good LB since Antonio Pierce which is flat out sad considering this teams history at the position, fuck the right side of the OLine being the biggest weakness for the third straight year, we havent had a single real good LB since Pierce! Sucks. Would be ecstatic if they drafted one early.
Nick Greisen in his prime, on this roster would be nasty
Patrick77 : 3/21/2017 7:36 pm : link
...

Or Kevin Lewis.

Imagine those two with Greg Jones!?!?

Like totally OMFG.
Boley was a beast here
DennyInDenville : 3/21/2017 7:41 pm : link
I mean really

Guy might have been a bad dude, but he earned his money here
Boley was a good player for us
Cenotaph : 3/21/2017 7:48 pm : link
I liked him, but I don't recall him being a dominant LB...

The thing I like about the LBs now, while they don't really have a set of 'all-around' type LBs, they have a bunch of solid role-players who they can mix & match to need. Guess it will be Casillas - Goodson - Kennard as the nominal starters, but Robinson will see 2nd/3rd downs as a cover guy. And Thomas will see time on the trainer's table/waiver wire.
Boley's speed would be nice.
Ten Ton Hammer : 3/21/2017 8:19 pm : link

He was pretty much an average
JCin332 : 3/21/2017 8:24 pm : link
starting NFL LB'er...
Boley was terrible at the point of attack,
Doomster : 3/21/2017 8:58 pm : link
against the run...his pass coverage skills were over rated....

D was plenty good with JAG LBers last year. OL, run game and 29th ranked offense was the achilles heel. I vote OL :) and fuck the LBers

Boley was not a beast. He played for us for four seasons, was hurt often, never recorded more than 75 tackles in a season, got 3.5 sacks in 4 seasons and had one year when he got 3 ints but didnt get a single int in any other season. He was average/solid at best.
If we resign Hankins
WillieYoung : 3/21/2017 10:14 pm : link
I would get one of the inside linebackers in round 1. I am not a BPA advocate in the salary cap era. However, if the reports are to correct, I think there are no sure things among the offensive linemen and I think an athletic MLB behind our d-line can't miss.
Boley
blue42 : 3/21/2017 10:39 pm : link
was an average player when he got here....and didn't disappoint.
Armstead would be the guy that fits this defense
Rjanyg : 3/21/2017 10:40 pm : link
He could blitz, cover and stop the run. Boley was a good LB but not in the same class as Armstead IMO
Yeah
Paulie Walnuts : 3/22/2017 12:54 am : link
Gimmie Jessie Armstead he was the warrior

TE problems = solved.

Joking, of course, Boley was better than he got credit for IMO, but agree that he's a strange guy to long for to add to this roster
What about
TyreeHelmet : 3/22/2017 10:44 am : link
Uani Unga in his "prime" in this defense? Now he could really make an impact....
1997 version of Scott Galyon would be AWESOME!
Greg from LI : 3/22/2017 10:48 am : link

Jacquin Williams would be nasty in this defense.
