per RAB:
The Yankees received good news and bad news about Didi Gregorius and his injured shoulder today. The good news: it’s a relatively minor strain and he will be shut down from baseball activities for two weeks. The bad news: Gregorius will miss Opening Day. Bummer.
I'd guess he'll miss the first 15 games or so, assuming all goes well with the rehab.
Gregorius hurt himself making a throw while playing second base in a World Baseball Classic tune-up game in Arizona over the weekend, Girardi told Michael Silverman. The Netherlands clinched a spot in the semifinals last week, and they had a long layoff before last night’s game because they had to travel from Tokyo, so they played an exhibition game to stay sharp.
[gotta love that WBC ...]
He's expected to miss all of April. Glad it's not worse, but that's still quite some time to replace him.
Just my $.02. I know people think I'm a hater, but this is twice now.

As a Canadian I haven't been able to watch a single game on MLB.TV live or archived. The WBC can suck my bawls.
Didi is an impressive SS at his size, and if he's going to hit the ball with authority from now on he's a valuable piece. None of the prospects we are gushing about may not be on his level defensively. When is he hitting free agency anyway?
You have to put a player on the 60 day DL to open a roster spot. I suspect the easy move would be to put Austin on the 60 day DL, backdated to the injury- and that would open a spot- but the Yanks might have already had a prior plan to use that spot for someone else. We will see.
Tanaka has held them scoreless through 4.1
Greg Bird follows with 3 run HR.

Let's go.
Liked it when the Mets batted Cespedes 2nd too. with a runner on and Bird behind him he will see pitches to hit, and in a tight game has a chance to get one more at bat late
Girardi already has said that the Gardy/Ells duo at 1-2 will be broken up

But, how likely is this? On an everyday basis, aren't we likely to see the combination of Ellsbury and Gardner in the 1/2 slots? That likely puts Bird at 5 or 6.
