on the OL. Somehow, I expected our number to be lower, mostly as a function of replacement parts starting on the right side and Richburg and Pugh still on their rookie deals.
On the LB front, pretty much confirms what we already know, the Giants spend on DL and DBs, and whatever's left on LBs, which isn't much.
for offense vs defense as far as cap allocation goes (66% to 34%). Their offense masked so much of the flaws of their defense last year. Considering the huge hit they took depth wise on the their team this off season, and not much cap room left to go to make improvements, unless they knock it out of the park in the draft, they are counting on Dak and Zeke to have another miracle 11 game winning streak run and no sophomore slump. Considering that, and the depth they've lost, I cannot see them matching what they did last year. It's there for the Giants to win the division and take their shot at the whole thing.

Agreed. I do think Dallas will be a pain in the ass to deal with based on the assumption that Dak is the long term goods and that OL stays healthy, but their D is a disaster. No other way to slice it. They are well coached. But they are bad. And they just lost some serviceable players along with a very good player (Church) to FA.
If Dallas is smart they take the long game approach and let this cap mess unfurl itself over the next year or two. Then they will hope to fix the D in FA in that brief period before Dak's contract comes up. But even then they will have to be careful.
Dallas fucked themselves good with the Romo deal. I can't blame them but kicking that can down the road and extending his deal might have cost them a super bowl appearance. Dak helps. But Romo's deal crushed their chances last year and likely this year and next. At least I hope...

Osweiler?
And of those teams, only 3 have not made the playoffs the last two years....
