The web streaming service from them? Basically their version of Sling. They are running a promotion that if you pre pay for 3 months of service (about $100), you get a free Apple TV.
I have Comcast and while I don't hate their service, I hate thier prices, so I thought it would be a good way to give DTV a whirl and pick up a new ATV for my effort.
I've not tried playstation Vue, but have heard good things. I have tried Sling, but didn't come away ready to cut the cord. Although I only used it for their free trial for one week and didn't really use it all that much.
Main problem is that my GF loves the DVR and she's not really good at adapting to changes in technology.
Let my friend use it, I had no real use for the actual subscription. He said it was choppy at times even with a strong internet connection. But seemed to get better as the weeks went on.
You can definitely work around Sunday Ticket with Playstation Vue
You don't need a PS at all. I think its on ATV and maybe Roku.

I have a PS 3 that collects dust ... do I have to get a 4?

It is better on PS systems, because you can watch whats on the screen, and go through the guide at the sametime. On Roku, you have to go to the channel selection and get off the show. It was the one thing I didn't like about it.
March Madness has been crystal smooth no buffering no services problems that I have ran into yet into about a month of service.
All three (Sling, DTN, PSVUE) had one week free trials that let me use them all and play around and get used to there set ups first. I'm pretty sure they still offer that. Best way to figure out on your own without going all in for a month.
It does take a while getting used to how these streaming services are set up and there layouts are very different from one anither but its totally worth cutting the cord. I used to pay around $220 a month for TV, Phone, Internet. Now we are only paying $60 for internet and $40 for the PlayStation Vue package.
Well, sir, this most agreeable agent in Tucson gushed about how long I'd been with them and so forth. Then...
She offered our Choice package for $72 reducing to $64 after 12 months -- plus free Sunday Ticket Max for 2017 and free movie channels (HBO, SHO, Cinemax, Starz) for 3 months.
Too hard to resist.
BTW, they installed brand new equipment the same day!

Not being able to rewind would be a killer for me. I realize how much I use it every time I stay in a hotel
channel selection is decent if you live in NYC
you get NBC ABC FOX
haven't had any streaming problems
Bad
Interface kind of sucks..
the on demand stuff is not great selection
there was suppose to be 72 hour rewind but it has NEVER WORKED and now they pulled it to release at a later date .
some channels you get on streaming but not on Demand or app versions -- worse is TCM .. TCM is useless if you don't have on demand version as well
NBC in NYC works on iPad /iphone but not Apple TV?????
no CBS yet..
definitely worth trying for free Apple TV..
Until then, hard to see my family doing so since we never watch anything on Live TV anymore and always record what we want on the DVR to watch later.
