At least they wouldn't be having the ref who made the initial call decide whether or not he was right in the first place. That was never a good idea. ("After further review, it looks like I got the call right again!")
This way is closer to how MLB is doing it. The ump makes the call on the field...team makes the challenge...it goes to review and (I believe) a panel of umps with access to all the games makes the final decision.
Goodell announced the NFL was taking steps to make the games go quicker, but today he says 1 man will be in charge of all reviews.
All turnovers and touchdowns are reviewed as well as challenges and there could be as many as 8 games playing at the same time. If multiple games go into reviews at once, will teams have to wait for Blandino to get to their games?
RE: I think this will add consistancy to the calls

If they were using a panel of officials that would be great but they arent
It is the right thing to do it like the NCAA, go to the league office for reviews. The whole process of throwing the flag, having the ref come over to the sideline to talk to the coach, then make the announcement of the challenge, and then run over to the little booth, then run back out to the field is ridiculous. And yes, there are differences in interpretation on these replay calls. The league is finally getting it right. This along with automatic review on all scoring plays and all turnovers makes the system pretty good IMO. No they shouldnt be able to review anything, penalties, etc. I dont know much about this Blandino guy, or who he's buddies with, but he is the head of the NFL officiating, and he and whoever he appoints to review these penalties, I trust to do the job quickly and as accurately as possible.

He's not the least qualified person I know who has an important job, but he's right up there. A worthless yes man if one there ever were. One of the great mysteries of life is how these people get so far on so little.
Say there are 7 games at 1 o'clock and three reviews happen at the same time. How can any one person have the final say and keep the game moving along?
we are making the final decision? and how many times are we wrong?
and speak for yourself on never officiated :)

according to goodell it was blandino alone making final decision, made no mention of a group of people

If so, how does this fix it? Why did they get it wrong?
