Recently, I have been having some issues with Google and their adsense program for my website. I have had this site with google adwords in place for about 8 years.
I noticed that my clicks were disappearing over the past month. Well, I can see them but I am not being paid for them. Google is claiming invalid clicks and/or invalid traffic. They suggested that I make some changes on my site. Changes included creating more space between the content and the ads and also between any navigational buttons. Did that. Checked my web traffic sources. Most of them coming from Google and the rest from some legitimate sites like Trulia, etc. A small percentage of the traffic coming from me as I am making changes to the site and then checking the results on the pages. They are saying there is potential invalid traffic and the kicker here is they also charged me for adwords clicks where I paid for clicks on Google to send people to my site and now claiming invalid traffic. Sounds like something the government would do.
My correspondence has been through email only because they dont want to talk to anyone. It is at 1am when their reps from India are working.
Does anyone have any history or experience here with this? I honestly have no idea what else to do. The site looks perfect as it relates to ad placements, etc. I got a couple dozen ad clicks today and they are not paying me for any of them.
