Linked below. One turned out to be an absolute steal that the Giants moved up for. The other an FA acquisition turned top tier at his position. Link - ( New Window )
instead of Wilson would have helped us more, since Wilson's injury ended his career prematurely. Before being hurt the guy flashed some serious ability that could have been put to good use here, that's the 'what might have been'.
that 2012 draft will live in infamy for Reese. Wilson, Randle, Hosley, Robinson, Mosley, McCants, Kuhn. I'd say that's without question his worst draft of his tenure and it's not close.
that Brandt, when commenting on Landon Collins first (poor) season, forgets to mention he was playing out of position (FS)?
Safeties need to do everything. Yes, he was used more deep 2 years ago than last year but Collins still plays everywhere. Some of his most memorable plays this year was when he was deep. The whole FS/SS labeling is sort of out of date.
Collins himself said he struggled his first year because he was getting used to the NFL game. Imo, if he wasn't thrown to the wolves 2 years ago and asked to do basically everything I don't think we would have seen the same player that we saw lasf year. He was exposed to basically everything as a rookie and, imo, that accelerated his growth.

I agree with what you are saying but we know Collins as a draftee was known to lack coverage skills. Not even mentioning the fact that he was asked to do that in his rookie year is unfair. Brandt attributes his turn-around to his conditioning change between years 1 and 2:

What he became: Collins wasn't very good as a rookie; he didn't look very quick, his instincts were a problem and he was burned too many times. And then, of course, he underwent about the most radical change I've ever seen a player undergo, earning Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honors with what looked like a reworked body in 2016. The quickness and instincts were there, and he made himself look like a real steal for New York's revamped defense.
was a bust even before the injury, he looked God awful. No vision. Bop Papa said the same thing. Thats when the front office started getting *weird* after the 2nd ring.
Cordy Glenn wpuld have been better for us, imo.
Yeah, but if we drafted Wagner instead of Wilson he never would have made this list.
