I don't know if its because its defense heavy and OL weak but I cant get into this years draft.
Best RB class in years but not in love with any of them (with the exception of Fornette).
Deep TE class but not in love with any of them.
I know we have holes on the OL but I'm not against going D, D, D rounds 1, 2 & 3. Get a world class defense and hope the changes we make on the OL (FA, later rounds, other FAs still out there) hold up.
There is alot of speed on defense in this draft. If we have a shot a Charleton, Njoku, or McCaffrey.. I'd say that is pretty exciting.
Watch some of these guys on Youtube and that may do something for you.

I like McCaffrey and obviously his dad who should have been here a lot longer, but what concerns me when watching his highlights vs James Conner as an example, while they are much different players, is that McCaffrey always seems to be running through a huge lane due to having s good line, poor competition etc where a guy like Conner is fighting through tacklers which we can definitely expect with our line and really the NFL in general. It's not McCaffreys fault but it's hard to judge how well he will do with little space to run through since we don't really have anything to go off of in his college tapes. I guess I feel like we need a power guy more than a finesse back at this point, it seems like Perkins can fill that void.
Sounds like it's low on superstars but deep on solid talent. While I'd never turn down a playmaker, this team would greatly benefit from 2-3 solid if unspectacular players. A couple of role players to help push some bottom of the roster guys off (change of pace back to offset Perkins, CB to take Wade/Sensabaugh's place, another DE to the rotation, etc.).
This could be a great draft.
That'd be fun to watch for a change.
Go back and look at the scores of the Ravens games that year. The Ravens offense was putting more points on the board than we did last year.

I agree with you on this. If we play to the strength of this draft and go heavy on D in the first few rounds we could arguably have a Ravens of 2000 type defense. The difference is we have guys like Eli and Beckham on offense compared to Dilfer. The offensive line needs some help but maybe we can draft a mid round guy and luck into a veteran FA being let go in the summer to patch things up.

They averaged less than two points more per game and that amazing D gave them fantastic field position constantly.
Meanwhile I look at the OL and I see interesting prospects in each round. The idea that Cam Robinson may still be available with the 23rd pick is crazy. Is it true or just a media mistake? Won't know until the draft day. And if not Robinson, Ramczyk is another OL prospect I like. Not as enamored with Bolles and Lamp, but I wouldn't complain. McCaffrey is a pipe dream, but you never know.
2 - They had outstanding all-around Special Teams. Jermaine Lewis was a deadly Returner to boot.
The NYG, as currently constituted, don't have either of those two things.
After 1st round.....Then the deep talent starts to provide BPA........The 6th TE or 4th RB will still be studs
And? That means absolutely squat in 2017.
It's not and that's fine, but it's ridiculous to even say it. Washington fan like, even.
For the defense, another edge rusher wouldn't hurt (although I'm hoping that will be in the form of an OLB instead of a DE), and since it's a deep class for CBs and Safeties, I can see the Giants grabbing one (or both). DT? Why not, regardless of what happens with Hankins. If the talent is there, I say go for it.
I know I won't get everything on my wish list, but if JR & Co. make the right moves, the Giants should emerge from draft weekend a lot stronger than they are now.
Yeah, I just don't get where the OP is coming from. I don't have to be "in love" with any RB or TE (or WR) to recognize that the addition of a talented kid at even one of those positions would do wonders for our offense.
And what's so bad about going defense-heavy, if that's what's there when we're up? Is there anything wrong with making a strength even stronger? I don't think so.
Question about Mcaffrey is can he be a starting tailback? Tote the rock on 1st and 2nd down for you if you need him to? If he can't is he really worth such a high pick for us when we have Sheppard in the slot already and Vereen at 3rd down back? Tough call.
Who knows? Of the six mock drafts at CBS, four have Robinson going to Seattle at #26, and two don't even have him in the 1st round.
At NFL.com, Brooks has him going to the Raiders at #24, Reuter has him going to the Ravens at #16, and Jeremiah has him going to the Broncos at #20.
So, again, who knows? Stranger things have happened.
This draft is loaded with defensive talent and TEs
The Giants defense has become something to got excited about
2 or 3 solid pieces added could push that excitement higher
If you cant get on board for that, you are missing the boat.
Me - i'm salvating. Just look at a guy like Chris Wormley - add him to the De Front. It would be like adding a heat seeking missle to the defense.
I use him illustratively - i've viewed highlights of 40 or 50 players in the draft now that would excite me if they were ny giants
Go Giants. Im ready baby!
