Joakim Noah will be suspended 20 games for violating the NBAs anti-drug policyreportedly for taking an over-the-counter supplement that is currently banned by the league but will no longer be prohibited under the next seasons new collective bargaining agreement. |
But seriously, if it's going to be allowed next year doesn't Noah have a favorable stance for an appeal, or at least a reduction?

the craxy thing is in the new cba there would be no suspension

I would have sworn he was taking performance diminishing drugs."

The supplement that Noah tested positive for is, in fact, included on the banned list in the new CBA set to start next season.
I really want to see it with Fox. I don't have any personal vendetta against him. The physical tools are intriguing in its own right.
What scares me on offense is not only his range, but he also seems really passive in the halfcourt to me. Yes I watched the game. Yes, I know he scored 39.
He had a few nice pull up jumpers and the touch on his floaters will get him some easy buckets too.
He's also going to get buckets in transition. To me he looked hesitant in the halfcourt when he's not operating with picks. I'll be honest, I don't know how much to separate from what Cal was running and how much was fox's hesitancy. But he never seemed intent on going inside the 3 point line without getting a pick. If a help defender on the perimeter came over he'd pass it up and get an easy assist.
Also, lonzo ball was shading him at the 3 point arc.
Holiday was mirroring him 3 feet deep in the second half. This is simply not going to happen in the NBA.
He doesn't seem like an advanced passer at all IMO. He'll make the obvious pass when he breaks past the first defender and a help defender rotates over. Sound familiar? He reminds me a lot of 2017 Derrick Rose offensively.
I really want to see it, I'm still finding it hard to sell myself on it top 5-6.

i think thats why he looked a little hesitant at times
He's had issues this season, but from a physical standpoint he should be a good defender.
That's a tough call. If rose was a good defender is he a top level PG? I'd think probably.

He seems like a smart kid, good competitor, which wouldn't be a bad bet.
But is he going to be Ricky Rubio or John wall? I trust Rubio/wall more as crafty passers to make the most of their situations (not being able to shoot well) then what I've seen from fox
Ball?
.
i think fox and smith have the lowest floors but their potential is very high, alot more risk with these two...
i think smith a little less risk because he is a good shooter..
Also, before Ball becomes the "next Jason Kidd," he has some work to do on defense. He was Fox's bitch all night long.
he looked content staying on the perimiter
Why wouldnt it start ASAP?

League announced all suspensions begin when a player is healthy and available to play.

I believe it starts the first game he is listed as healthy and eligible to play. Since he's out for the rest of the season...it wouldn't start until next.

At the end of the day, he's still a freshman. For all the hype surrounding Wiggins, he was extremely passive in college, didn't seem to want to be the alpha dog and looked to others in big moments.
Again, buying/selling players based off tournament play alone is an egregious mistake.
Let's not forget that this was a home game for Kentucky.

Apparently his Mom is seriously ill and was in rough enough shape that his Dad couldn't even attend the game last night. Might have played a factor with his play.

looked like the pressure got to him, when my team is down i want the best player on my team to take over the game and settle the game and it seemed like he never could..

that makes sense, also looked like he was limping at the end of the game..
he just didnt look like what i have seen all season
76'ers have x2 against the Nets + Knicks (final game)
Magic have x2 against the Nets
Kings have Phoenix, Lakers, and Mavericks
Knicks have 8 straight games against either playoff teams, or fighting for the 8th seed (Pistons/Bulls/Heat), finishing with the 76'ers
Theres a chance!
i think this knee thing for melo is setting up a shut down for rest of season type thing, at least i hope
I think it has just gotten to the point that just blowing it up is the best option
Get a PG that passes the damn ball.
Get a PG that passes the damn ball.
yeah i got to this point as well..
if knicks are going to build around this years pick , kp and willy need to distance from melo and rose...
if rose or melo would take a backseat i wouldnt having 1 back BUT neither are going to take a back seat to the young guys..
He claims he cares about winning and not money... so if he comes back it means
Not a single good team was interested OR he's going to the highest bidder aka the Knicks valued him over the rest of the league. Either outcome = stay away.
I'm admittedly critical of Phil but I really do find it bizarre how he handles the media. Why doesn't he try and create the narrative instead of letting others? Get out there and speak on your terms.

Sure would be nice to hear from Phil when this is over.

Honestly don't think it's him.
Nobody in this city hates the media more than Dolan. Phil Jackson couldn't stop talking to the media in LA. It's how he used to get his agendas out, play mind games with refs, and tweak his players.
Knicks currently in a tie for 4th, but the sixers, kings and wolves are all right there.

Sixers play Pacers now, pretty winnable.
The sixers/knicks slots will be settled on the last day of the season I feel like.
Big win for SAC. Knicks will be (un)favored in probably every single game until the Sixers matchup. I like the sound of 4th.
if the past 2 games meant anything no dkubt he plays
Haha, what would Phil do to fuck it up? Coach the team?
he also has had good games shooting from midrange and his 3 point shot got.better as season has gone on..
it is hard not to like him
It's really a culture thing. Melo is a hell of a player, but I honestly don't think he cares enough about winning.
It's just all the John Wall comps are unfairly going to be thrown around draft time.

Man i was wrong about shump i thought he was going to be a steal
I'm actually taking a sports analytics class and my group in that class is analyzing a data set that has NBA players current and college shooting stats.
So for curiosity sake, I just went and looked at players that shot as high as Fox has from the line (74%) and as poorly as he has had from 3 (23%, before adjusting for todays game) and he'd be the first guard to do so (caveat: the data set starts from 2000).
But if you expand the query a little (70% or higher college FT%, 30% or lower college 3pt shooting), there are 8 players, 3 of which have shot better than 35% in the NBA: Mo Williams (shot 85% from FT in college), Henry Walker (?) and Kyle Weaver (also ?).
The other 5 who shot below 35% from 3 in the NBA are Tyreke Evans, Marcus smart, jeryl sasser (?), Ray McCallum, and Will Barton.
%s are strictly career numbers.
Evans is probably the closest comparison, but they were clearly not the same level of athlete as freshmen (and Evans was good athlete and a high lottery pick).
