A 2 down, occasional Middle LB, we have 3 good OLBs who can perform a variety of roles. It's possible that Robinson slides inside but Spags likes a thumper at Mike for running downs, that is something we lack.
His play fell off considerably and injuries surfaced this past season. He looks like a vet minimum guy to me at this point. Could be good competition if he can rebound but there are a lot of miles on his wheels now and he was never a 'speed burner' out there. Does anyone remember if the Giants expressed interest when he was a free agent before the 2015 season? I know he was discussed here by the membership.
And no thank you to that. This is one of those guys who's in rapid regression. His tackle total went from 75 in '15 to 27 in '16 and he played in all but two games. I really like the upside of Goodson and think the Giants will select an LB somewhere in the draft. After Arrington, Rivers, Emmons and god knows who else, old beat up linebackers need to be a thing of the past for this team. I don't even want that kind of player as a backup.
& they did it with Sheppard who made some big plays on 3 & short, 4 & short. They could have had him back much cheaper than Rey would cost . If they think Goodson grows into that role, they really only need to add one backer for depth. This is the first time since 08 that there will actually be some tough cuts to make . If Hankins signs elsewhere they will need to address a DT need. But that can be done in the draft .
Back up behind Goodson.
Always stout against the run and short yardage.
His starting days are over at 29 but might be a solid vet backup.
Ridiculous. I'm a big Goodson fan, but it's hard to say that BJG is a better player than RM right now. People need to un-drink the kool-aid occasionally.

Your probably right, but if Spags likes BJ, they need that cap $$$ to sign Hankins.
Always Minny too but they have good LB's.

Im glad we picked Nicks... He did help win a super bowl u know...
I wouldn't. At this point Mauluga = Jasper Brinkley.
