Any player we draft at #23 will get the chance to come in and prove himself. No matter what I thought of the pick at the time. Anything less is dumb.
I guess I'm reading the question less literally. If they draft Watson, it's not like I'd be irate. It's more that I have a preference for a Reddick or McCaffrey type difference maker...
We've expended a lot of resources on that position over the years and in the last 12 months. If we go Edge rusher in Round One, I'll be bummed.
And yes, I understand that the Giants (obviously) value that position highly. But we've got other big needs that need to be addressed with a Blue Chipper.
What you think is the best player selected and happy..could very well be a bust..a player that you despise being a pick..could very well end up as a HOF'er
I almost threw my remote through a window when they drafted JPP. I couldn't have been more wrong. I've realized there's absolutely no reason to flip out over a pick because I have no fucking idea about these college players the way the professionals running the Giants do.
player the Giants intend to play out of his college position. Any LB who is not way faster than any of the current Giants LBs--not just AS fast, but WAY faster.
a remote throwing pick. I wouldnt hate a QB either. Someone mentioned the unrealistic pick of Mixon, and I wouldnt throw a remote, I think I would just throw up.
+1000. You will never convince me to give that prick a second chance. Wouldn't be surprised by any others this late in Manning's career. A QB isn't out of the realm of possibility. Whether we like it or not.
A realistic remote thrower? A boom or bust left tackle at 23 that is already two years older than Flowers, Bolles is a remote thrower, but as soon as i fix the batteries in the remote i'll be rooting for him to pan out like all of hell. Another remote thrower, IMO, is Lamp.. I don't want that guy in the first, I'd be more accepting had we signed a real RT and not two RG's in Fluker and Jerry. I'd go nuts if we drafted a fucking LB, but who am I kidding, that ain't happening.

If Joe Mixon becomes a giants and puts up the same statistical year that Zeke had, you and the rest of the higher than tho will all shut the fuck up and cheer for the kid.
Concern yourself with everything between the numbers and trust me you will enjoy football more.
The Charter/Spectrum, TV, Roku, sound system, or DVR remote? Tried a universal one, once, and it had so many buttons, my wife threw that one on the floor...luckily only the batteries popped out....had to return it...
STRENTHS: While listed as a tight end on the roster, Engram is better described as a versatile offensive weapon, lining up out wide, in-line and in the background at Ole Miss. He looks more like a physical wideout than traditional tight end with his size and growth potential, but his athleticism allows him to create mismatches vs. linebackers and safeties.
Engram has elite short-area quickness for the position with excellent release off the line of scrimmage and agile feet to create separation out of his breaks and make defenders miss. He is also a tougher blocker than he looks with a quick punch and excellent balance.
IN OUR VIEW: Engram might not fit the prototypical profile of NFL tight ends, but he can be a difference-maker in the right offense.
Seems to me that he's exactly what we need, "a versatile offensive weapon."
I'll be doing cartwheels if the Giants draft him at #23.
Or trading picks away. Good players should be available when they pick and picks in all rounds are needed to fill the roster and at least try to develop. What always kills me about the Nassib pick is that they traded up for him.
He's one of the top five offensive weapons coming out of this draft
If you suggest that the Giants should (or will) draft a WR early...as early as the first round...nobody bats an eyelash. But do that with a TE and they look at you like you have two heads, even if that TE adds a dimension to your offense that it sorely lacks, and whose impact would be just as immediate, if not more, than any WR.

Agree wholeheartedly.
I just didn't see that "special" something in Engram.
He ran great at the Combine, but I didn't see that on the field. I also didn't see that quickness the review talks of. Perhaps I didn't see enough games, but I wasn't impressed.
As for TE, I'd do cartwheels if we were to land Howard, so it's not some prejudice against the position.

Not sure about getting him at 23, but I'd be all in for rnd 2 or 3. Really like his game. He's a player

I really won't. Thanks though.
Thats a lie, but continue to show your resolve on an internet forum, if it makes you sleep at night. You are the same type of fan that loved Lawerence Taylor or Tiki barber when he was great for the team... its extremely hypocritical to say you wouldn't root for a player that helps this team win, because of what he did off the field.
And by the time Tiki had an affair on his pregnant wife he was long gone from the Giants. And neither of them had punched a girl in the face on video.
It doesn't matter the time that the incidents happened, its the fact that you still praise them for their contributions to this team.
It is extremely hypocritical to think that a player who can help this team win, you wont root for because of personal reasons and from what I saw on the video he hit a woman in reaction to a woman hitting him twice, but I will not rehash that topic.
If we can get mixon either as a UDFA or later round guy because of this incident, then he will be a great addition to this giants back field.
which is why i don't pay attention to off the field stuff, I let the GM's/Scouts deal with that. we passed on Kiko Alonzo for off the field stuff as well as burficit an look how they turned out in their primes... cut the bullshit! i want this team to win i can careless about the moral code.
Brock Turner is sleeping in his bed comfy and no one is saying shit, but you all want to condemn this kid to hell cause he made a reactionary choice? smfh
don't know... just seems like this is a draft to take defense in rd 1
If there's a B+ or A- defensive player there at 23 i don't want to bypass that for a slightly lower rated OLineman. I really want the Giants to roll out an excellent and feared defense in 2017. Adding a prime cut of beef to the D helps the cause. I'd even be ok with using two of the first three picks on D. Just imagine this D with another good corner and DE. Good luck moving the ball on that unit.
I know we need help on the OL but this D is so close to elite. It might already be elite but we need depth. Last year we pretty fortunate health wise. I want another disruptor and some insurance along with it.
Terps says some shit that get us riled up but he's right in that you want to feed the strength of a team. Don't rest on laurels. You add a blue chipper to the D and one could honestly say that the D is better on paper than last year. And the O is too.
Good ones. Those two also

Yup
I remember similar comments before Eli was drafted.
I don't throw remotes this time of year. December or against an NFC east foe? Nothing is safe.
If they do go with a QB, I'd prefer Mahomes. Don't think they will.
What you think is the best player selected and happy..could very well be a bust..a player that you despise being a pick..could very well end up as a HOF'er
Draft is nothing but a crap shoot as a whole
Link
Well, in the context of the first round of the NFL draft, they're all five star recruits and best athletes on their teams.
I just prefer a player with a defined position. Jack of all trades master, of none doesn't thrill me.
Cunningham is a very good player. You are nuts
