Down and out for 24-36 hrs then fucked up for another day or so-- then got a 24 hr stomach virus a week or so later. Fantastic winter. If you have a kid in day care say your prayers every winter cold and flu season. You're fucked.
We've had everything else run through our house. My one year old had a fever, cold and/or ear infections every other week since New Year's (the fevers all ranged from 102-105). My Four year old had several colds, an ear infection and fever. My wife and I have been trading colds for the past month. I had my worst bought this past week. Even the dog has had two ear infections this winter.
Like a ton of bricks. I never get sick. Last time before was in the early 2000's. This was actually quite frightening. My wife wanted me to go to the hospital and I wouldn't have minded but I was such a mess that getting there wasn't an option. I was shaking so violently the second night it was almost like a seizure. My wife touched my forehead with cool hands and it felt like she dumped a bucket of ice water all over me. It took me about two weeks before I had full strength in my legs. I've never experienced anything like it.

My wife is a teacher and got the flu shot but after caring for me all weekend she ended up getting a more mild version the following Monday. Kept her out of work for two days if you consider that mild.
Had the stomach bug for 48 hours couldn't hold anything down then few weeks later had the flu was knocked on my ass for 4 days I guess I was lucky. Couldn't sleep night sweats then chills barely could eat lost 16 pounds between those 2 sicknesses. Then about a week ago I got a sinus infection that I neglected and currently I'm on antibiotics. Prior to these 3 issues have not been sick since 2014. This year was bad my whole family had the flu at one point and now my gf has a sinus infection(sorry)
It has delayed my neck surgery for the moment..having a hard time ridding it because of my low immunity..second round of antibiotics hoping this doesn't turn to pneumonia.
My son got his first cold and ear infection and just as I was getting over my cold. I went to kiss him and he turned and coughed right into my mouth. Dead solid perfect. I then got an ear infection which required TWO 10 day antibiotic treatments.
The flu shot probably helped because the duration was only 3 days but it hit pretty hard. A friend of mine was on his back for a couple of weeks. Pretty nasty strain this year.
I couldn't get out of bed...
Hope you guys feel better...I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy...
It sucked
I was hit with it for a couple of weeks in February.

Unlikely that's the flu. You have some other infection.
Now THAT'S the flu!
I got the flu shot. Doc said it may have helped shorten or lessen the effects but I still got hit.

I once got hit by a bus, felt just like having the flu.
I swear this shit is man made sometimes.
I haven't been sick a single day all winter. But I did get the flu shot because I'm not scared of needles.

Unlikely your wife got the flu 3 times. There are a lot of other illnesses out there, some of which resemble the flu in a number of ways.
Sounds like your son has a bad cold, not the flu.
