One of the More Fascinating NFL Mock Draft Sites IMO...

M.S. : 3/26/2017 9:13 am
...is the one put together by Adam Stites from SB Nation (see url link below.)

60+ Mock Drafts are compiled so that for each team we see the percentage of Mock Drafts that have a particular team selecting a particular player.

For example, out of 63 Mock Drafts compiled from March 10th - March 25th, the frequency of selection for the Giants at #23 is as follows:

David Njoku; TE (22.2% of the 63 Mock Drafts)
Ryan Ranczyk OT (20.6%)
Garett Bolles OT (11.1%)
Cam Robinson OT (7.9%)
Haason Reddick LB (7.9%)
All Other Selections (30.2%)

So... just for fun I looked at all of the selections before the Giants to see which position was selected most frequently by which team. Below I've focused only on the 3 positions that seem most relevant to the Giants based on the above three (TE, OT and LB.)

Sorry for the spacing, which is as follows:

Draft Selection Order
Team
Position
Frequency of selection for that Position

The first group is for TEs, then OTs and then LBers.

For example, if the Giants wanted to go OT at #23, it looks like the Denver Broncos at #20 are likely to choose one ahead of us (71.4% frequency of selection.) Notice, as well, that the Giants have the second highest percentage at 39.6%, and that there are 5 teams in total (out of the first 23 selections) in which OT is explicitly listed (i.e., and not just buried in the ALL OTHER category):

Draft Order Team Position Pos. Freq.

23 New York Giants TE 22.2%

Thanks -- and likely right on the money. If it's OT in the end, look for a trade up to get ahead of Denver.
and we draft a DT at 23 after all that

Nice!!!
Jay in Toronto : 3/26/2017 2:24 pm : link
so the Titans (TE) and Broncos (OL) pick may have a big impact on our pick?

That's without accounting for teams leapfrogging us via trades.
And if last year is any guide
Jay in Toronto : 3/26/2017 2:27 pm : link
smart $$ goes on someone in the 'Others' group, especially picking 23 vs 10.
And in this years others for us
Jay in Toronto : 3/26/2017 2:30 pm : link
are likely Mcaffery, Cunnigham, some CBs etc
