For whatever it's worth...Zach Cunningham

Ned In Atlanta : 3/26/2017 10:09 pm
I've read a lot about how Reese was at the Vandy pro day and how in previous years he's been at UGA, Miami, and other rumored/actual first round pick pro days. I moved to Athens GA and one of my friends up here is the beat writers for UGA for the Macon telegraph. He's obviously pretty tied in with UGA and SEC football in general. I texted him and told him about how I had heard on BBI that the Giants seem to have interest in Cunningham. His immediate response was, "Dude I love him...he's a beast." I figure hearing that from a guy who covers the SEC for a living has to count for something

he's at the top of my wish list. Would make this defense unfair for the rest of the league
Really nice

kid met him up here in Ct in January. Struck me as very thin though. Met Landon C around the same time and he seemed bigger.
Tons of AA but has the strangest unorthodox rodeo tackling style

It won't fly at the NFL level. He'll either get hurt or just be a bad tackler or both until he revamps his technique. You just can't get away with consistently taking guys high and wrastlin' them to the ground in the pros.

Aside from that I like his get off, his aggression, his instincts. High upside talent player but he needs to be coached up on that technique.
I'd like to hear what your buddy thinks

About Foster and Davis. I like both of them better than Cunningham. Curious what a reporter who covers the SEC for a rival school thinks about them too.

I'd really like to hear how he rates these guys 1-3.

I'm hoping that he can be coached up the same way Apple managed it. I remember the wrap on him was that he'd be a grabby CB and he came in and showed nothing but impressive cover skills.
A lot of tackles

seems like a perfect guy to fly around behind a big D line

like ours.
I also live in Atlanta and have watched Cunningham plenty of times

He has nice frame and has lots of good attributes, but he has flaws as well. The tackling form is the biggest.

I would be okay with the pick but to the extent other players have similar grades I wouldn't go Cunningham.
The Raanan article

makes me think Zack would be a good pick. I'd like to go offense though if close.
