due did nothing on offense for long stretches. Barely moved. Im really not interested in him at this point.
That's why he screams philly to me. Can play completely off the ball, provides spacing. Can heat up in a minute, but also cool down for stretches. He's a 2 on offense but a 1 on defense.
He looked lost off-ball. I'd like to see one of his good games to see what people are seeing. I see a plus athlete who can hit shots if he takes them, even contested ones. But in a single elimination tournament I saw the most passive play I've ever seen out of a purported star player. He just stood around and waited. Didnt even really serve as much of a decoy.
Fox and Monk never seemed to be on the same page at UK. They both just took turns trying to create for themselves, never seemed to be in sync.
I think with NBA spacing he will flourish. He will score lots of points, not sure much else. Has the tools to be a good defender for his size.
hipefull melo is held out again
Quote:
1) Fultz
2) Ball
3) Jackson
4) Tatum
5) Fox
6) Smith Jr.
I'm also very fine with any of the six. There are years when any of them would have been the consensus no. 1 overall.
Knicks desperately need a PG, especially one that can play both ways, so to me I'd go Fultz, Ball, Fox. If those three gone then Jackson and Tatum next up. I'd be happy with any of those five, but estatic with one of the three PGs.
it is really hard to just sit out players when everyone knows you want to tank and with the whole resting thing it is just a weird decision...
will be interesting what his minutes are like tonight..

Melos playing tonight. Who's making the decision on if he plays? What a strange situation.

Phoenix and the Lakers aren't even trying to hide it. Sent the veterans home for the year. Why not just do the same with Melo? What if he gets a serious injury?
Benching Melo would be one step worse -- benching a clear starter who is also somewhat of a draw. Maybe not at BBI, but there are a lot of paying ticket holders who will be upset if Melo is just sat while healthy.

Also: no one goes to Suns games.
Drummond and a future first to Knicks
Noah and Lee and this years lottery pick to Pistons
Would either side consider it?
Next trade. Melo is 90% gone by draft this summer and will probably only except a trade to Lakers or Clippers
Melo to Lakers for Clarkson and future first
Knicks now have plenty of cap space
Contract offer to Aaron Gordon who's a restricted FA I believe
Starting Lineup 2017-2018
Drummond
KP
Gordon
Holiday
Clarkson
Bench
Kooz
Randle
Wily
Their two second round draft picks
Agreed.
I've really soured on drummond. He's not really the stout defender his athleticism would suggest (though still young). Are we sure he's tangibly better than Willy? Certainly not offensively.
2) Ball
3) Jackson
4) Tatum
5) Fox
6) Smith Jr.
Those are the top 6 players, although I'd rate players 4-6...
4 - Smith
5 - Tatum
6 - Fox
Like plenty of others have said, I'd be happy with any of those 6 guys. As much as I love Jackson, I would have to take Fultz and Ball over him (if/when the Knicks win the lottery... hehe) simply because I need to get the most I can out of KP and Willy.
Dirk was the comp that made sense, and on his good nights, you can kind of see it. He's a shooter.
Can we please end this charade?
Yup, exactly.
wtf do you want them to do? just bemch him for no reason?
you realize silver is jist waiting to start fining teams for sitting players for no reason..

How about we start with not playing him for 40 minutes? How about you let him play (to appease Silver and the fans) while limiting his minutes? How about having some forward thinking about the future of this franchise.
Yeah, let's worry about fines. Check back with me when that actually happens. Meanwhile, the other team's that don't give a shot about fines with set up their future.
Where were you the past 2 games applaudimg them for sitting melo? oh yeah thats right you are just here to bitch..

Oh get bent...because you are such a beacon of the perfect fan on these threads. What do you give a shit whether I applaud the team for sitting him? Applaud the for making rational decisions al the time? No, I get it...kill me for not living my life on BBI every second of the day like you. Got it.
But you are right...allowing Melo to play almost the entirety of the first three quarters while having an amazing game is a much better plan.
Go Knicks?
if knicks were losing this game and melo was playing horrible would you be bitching?
My point is if you are going to kill phil and hornacek and be fair and mention they sat him for 2 games, rather than coming on here oh fuck this guy and fuck that guy, brings nothing to the thread...
when phil trades melo for sog shit you will come on here and rip phil for trading melo for dog shit..
I'm not allowed to complain about Phil and Hornacek without also giving them praise? You think its entirely possible that I already think that but for some reason I need to say it because it makes you feel better?
And don't tell me what I will or will not say in the future. You have no idea what I think.
I'm sorry my once-in-a-blue-moon post bitching about Hornacek playing a hot Melo the entire first half in a meaningless game really burned your biscuits. Must have really ruined the thread for you this unique thought that didn't come up from anyone else on this or any other thread.
I'm sincerely sorry.

sixers play brooklyn tomorrow so hopefully win there for them...
orlando also plays brooklyn this week..
so hopefully that will even it back up
You can't ever get mad at the players for not tanking though.
- Deron Williams is awful. Not sure he helps them at all in the playoffs.
-JR Smith isn't the same since his injury. Needs more time to get his game back.
- I saw Derrick Williams exert more effort on defense tonight than he did his entire time with the Knicks. He still is not a good NBA player though.
- Patty Mills is going to get paid big this offseason. I want the Knicks to truly rebuild but if they are intent on signing a PG, I'll take Mills over Rose/Teague/Holiday.
- Gasol can still play. I can see him causing problems on the glass and down low offensively against GSW in limited spots.
-This "players only" broadcast on TNT is definitely different. Not really a fan so far but I could see it working with the right guys.
coaches will never coach to lose and players will never play to lose, just never going to happen
this, plus this was a big game for Detroit and those it's competing with for a playoff spot.
