Hope you took yesterday to rest up because it's pedal to the metal time the rest of the way. Need to shake off this recent home game malaise and get back to the good side tonight.
Thomas Greiss in net. Alan Quine replaces Shane Prince, who was very ineffective in his ice time on Saturday. Thomas Hickey replaces Scott Mayfield tonight on the blueline.
Noteworthy in juniors, Mat Barzal has missed the last several games for Seattle, including the first 2 playoff games in their series with what most believe are the mumps. He had been quarantined, but a report from Saturday notes he's doing much better and was at the game in street clothes. That's a good sign.
Despite the loss Saturday, one bright spot we all see is Josh Ho-Sang. Love what he shows on the ice, and it's interesting to hear his thoughts about his teammates and how they've embraced him to add to his confidence. Good video
here.
Let's Go Islanders
I'm hoping we win in a very non-physical game as the Preds have Boston tomorrow and we need them fresh :)
And when the fuck, if at all, is Johnny Boychuk coming back. This is getting ridiculous.
Obviously, the Boychuk injury is more serious than they led us to believe. I've read he's better, but also saw reports earlier on, he was in a boot and on crutches. Pulock would have been a nice move, but we all knew that even in lieu of any Boychuk injury.
I'm still not real happy after the results against NYR & PIT to see what the Isles responded with on Saturday, at home. Critical game tonight (I know, no duh).
Stevens, 22, served as captain of the Northeastern University Huskies this season and scored 28 points (five goals, 23 assists) in 25 games. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound forward helped the Huskies win a Hockey East Title and reach the NCAA Tournament in 2016. In four years at Northeastern, Stevens scored 106 points (26 goals, 80 assists) in 138 games.
As for the guys tonight, I really want to see more urgency. That seemed to be sorely lacking Saturday. Play with a sense of desperation.
95% of the time there's a quality HD stream available.
Good luck and feel better.
Kulie (expected to miss Thu & Fri games):
I agree with this. They went away from the aggressive forecheck that fits their style. It was as if they were backing off because of Boston's size.
this is great news but our power play though the puck possession has been great, we need to shoot the puck more. That loss to Boston was strictly due to the lack of a PP. Just think, we had under 20 shots on net and we had 12 minutes of PP. We had been doing much better but against Boston for some reason we regressed. When we shoot the puck good things happen, have to stop trying to get the perfect shot.
As I've said before (and I challenge the kids I coach with this as well), don't be afraid to be great. I'd love for the Isles, especially at home, to take it to these guys tonight. At some point, they'll realize they have everything to lose by not throwing the kitchen sink at their opponents in these final regular season games.
Need to win this.
Let's goooooooooooooooooooooooooo
This team just digs holes for itself. They gotta strap it on and ball out for 40 more minutes. Come on.
Decide if you want to be bent over the couch or if you're gonna respond. Your season, fellas.
Maybe it's time to remind them every game is a playoff game right now.
About fucking time.
The worst part of this race is how fucking long it took to dump happy Jack. Three more wins and they are looking good right now. Maybe if they didn't get wiped off the ice by TB every game early on.
Fuck. It's frustrating.
exciting
At least they got one bak and it makes the 3rd a bit more manageable.
7-0 or 6-1 is about the only way this gets done. My advice? Drink heavily.
I could not agree more. I only wish we played the Rangers and the Penguins every night. I did not post during the game to try and change up the luck. Very disappointed with these last 2 games.
