NFT: Gentlemen...Some informatione please. Vegas trip planned

superspynyg : 3/27/2017 12:52 pm
with two friends. We all turn 40 this year. Two of us are married the other in a long relationship. I have never been. Now I don't party remotely like I used too. But I would like some opinions.

1) Going to see a Cirqu show on Sat (only day they will perform while we are there) Which would be better KA or Michael Jackson?

2) Which is a good Steak House? I see they have a Del Frisco's Double Eagle (The one in NYC was awesome) Any other to consider?

3) They want to stay at the Venetian? Any one stay there before? any problems or must sees?

Thank you all.

My son went to the Michael Jackson one and loved it

He was told that this was the best one. Venetian is great, no issues (except for price of course).
I live in San Diego and go to Vegas at least twice a year...

I've seen both of those Cirque shows. I would choose KA - they had some cool fighting scenes and the stage does some pretty unique things. MJ you go more for the music.

Never been to the Steakhouse you mentioned - but Carnevino at the Palazzo (connected to Venetian) is really good. So is CUT also in Palazzo.

Venetian is a really nice hotel. Can't really go wrong. Can be a walk if you all want to do anything Mid to South strip.

If you get down to Planet Hollywood check out Blondies Sports Bar in the Miracle Mile Mall thing that goes around the casino.

And yes, go to Sapphire immediately haha. Have fun!
I stay

at the Venetian once a year, in August for work, great place. Cosmopolitan is nice too.

In the Ventian, Tao is an awesome club, almost every night, not sure how hard it is to get into though. I had VIP access.

And Samba Sushi in the connected Palazzo is really good for sushi in the desert.

Steak houses everywhere in Vegas, almost every single casino has a steakhouse that is just as good as the next place.

If you want to watch games in a usually less crowded place, Emeril laggase has a "Lagasse Stadium" sports book with a bar and food in the downstairs at the Palazzo, which was great.
and try and see if they upgrade
pjcas18 : 3/27/2017 1:14 pm : link
you to a suite at the Venetian. They did for me once because they were out of rooms, and all the rooms are awesome there.

But my suite was like the one from the Hangover. I had three separate doors to enter it. two huge bathrooms, one with a Jacuzzi and a flat screen mounted in the bathroom.

multiple rooms. My colleagues were furious.
Sapphire is overpriced
B in ALB : 3/27/2017 1:21 pm : link
and way overcrowded. Do yourself a favor and go to the Palomino Club - the only full nude spot in Vegas that serves booze. You'll be much happier and your wallet will thank you.

Steakhouse- I would recommend Cut in Palazzo or STK in Cosmo. STK will be a little more of "trendy scene" but I love Cut. If you're looking a straight old school no frills steakhouse, then "The Steakhouse" in Circus Circus is an option.

Venetian is good but I probably would prefer the Wynn, Cosmo or Palazzo over it. Great rooms in the Venetian though and I agree Tao is a good club.

I have heard of bad experiences at Sapphire with theft/ overcharging credit cards, but I'm sure that happens at most of those places. Check out the Rhino and Larry's Flynt's Huster Club.

Also, try to make it a to a pool party. It's a must do while in Vegas for the summer season.
Michael Jackson show

Was good but not very cirque like IMO. More dancing than anything else. Music was, as you can imagine, awesome.

book that. 2nd rent a car. third get off the strip, check out the red rock canyon scenic 13 mile drive, take Charleston Blvd all the way up. then stop back at red rock Casino in Summerlin on Charleston. Go to the Yardhouse for lunch in Red Rock casino 148 beers on tap. Spring Mountain for Chinese food and massages,
there are steakhouses everywhere, T-bones in red rock casino is
gtt350 : 3/27/2017 2:57 pm : link
excellent. there are a number of free standing Flemings which are also excellent. Eating in the Hotel Steakhouses are extremely pricey
I'm sure there are more classic options
27 : 3/27/2017 3:12 pm : link
but the steak I had from STK in Cosmo last year was the best I've had.

If you aren't out to..
FatMan in Charlotte : 3/27/2017 4:32 pm : link
the Red Rocks canyon, then going to the Red Rocks casino is just going to send you off the strip. You can find Yardhouse's in a lot of cities, as well as Fleming's. Stay on the strip or go downtown, but no need to go a few miles away to go to places you can elsewhere..

Gotta have a steak in Vegas

https://www.caesars.com/planet-hollywood/restaurants/ramsay
Same with an awesome burger

https://www.caesars.com/caesars-palace/restaurants/bacchanal-buffet
Best buffet in Vegas, make sure to account for at least an hour wait. They have nice virtual kiosks where you put your name and mobile # in and they text you when ready so you're not sitting around in a lame line.

Entertainment
http://thegunstorelasvegas.com/
Ever wanted to fire a machine gun or sniper rifle? Come here and give them a shot (ha ha)

http://www.digthisvegas.com/
Ever wanted to operate construction vehicles? Now's your chance.

http://www.pinballmuseum.org/
Just about every major pinball machine ever in here, all for a quarter each.

http://www.skyjumplasvegas.com/
Nothing like a bungie jump from the 108th floor.

https://www.bellagio.com/en/entertainment/gallery-of-fine-art.html
Some of the best fine art you'll see

https://www.caesars.com/rio-las-vegas/shows/penn-and-teller
Can't beat Penn and Teller when it comes to a show

Nightlife
http://www.spearmintrhinolv.com
Hands down best (and most expensive) gentlemen's club experience. Make sure to call them for their free limo rides if you have a group going, they'll take you over and back for free.

https://www.hardrockhotel.com/party/rehab-pool-party-las-vegas
Lots of hot girls come here Sunday mornings to recover after partying all Saturday night. Can get crowded as summer starts with all the tourists in town.

http://taolasvegas.com/nightclub
One of my favorite clubs. Can be hard to get into Friday/Saturday night if you're just a bunch of guys without paying off the bouncer or getting bottle service.

2 & 3. Prime and StripSteak

Haven't been to Del Frisco's yet but I hear great things.

STK is definitely a trendy spot. Has a lounge-y feel and puts you in the middle of a hotel with good nightlife options.

I'm generally not a huge fan of the steakhouses with the old school Vegas atmosphere, since the food is the same price but just plain isn't as good as the aforementioned: Hugo's Cellar, THE Steakhouse at Circus Circus, etc.

I love the Steak House at the Circus Circus. Shit casino but it's where the all of the dealers pointed me to several years ago for a great steak. Now its one of my go to spots.
for the record the best buffet is at the Bellagio

I just drove thru Red Rock Canyon
B in ALB : 3/27/2017 8:34 pm : link
And up Mt Charleston. Nice drive. You might see some wild horses and other wildlife on your way up. Then on the way down, which is basically a straight shot if you continue around the route, you can see how fast your rental car can go.

Add in a stop at In n Out on your way back to the strip.
Lotus of Siam is perhaps the best Thai in the US

THE STEAK HOUSE...
EricJ : 3/27/2017 10:25 pm : link
in the Circus. That hotel is a dump but "The Steak House" was always rated best in vegas until the new trendy places came around and started paying for their reputation.

Go to The Steak House and thank me later. A 6 foot 5 inch guy named "Shorty" will cook your steak to perfection over a wood fire. Your potato and veggie is included in the price. Awesome salads.

I also second Lotus of Siam that Matt Lawson recommended. One of the best Thai Restaurants. I always stop there when I am in Vegas. This place also may have one of the largest wine selections in Vegas...and you would never expect it.
