Sorry to start yet another burger thread, but I just had to get this off my chest. I went to shake shack for my first time yesterday. Wow, talk about over-rated. The burger was completely average, and the overall experience was no different than all the other fast-casual restaurants out there. I make a better burger at home, and have other local options that are just as good or better. 100% meh, and yet another millenial fad IMO.
Top seed is still In and Out but don't visit as often since I live on the east coast.
Also, I know there aren't too many - but here on the Island we a couple of BurgerFis. I had a great burger there the other night with my youngest.
I got so sick to my stomach from Five Guys, I will never try it again.
I like Bare Burger better than all these options.
Habit burger is pretty good. Charbroiled burgers. Good onion rings.
Biggest complaint I hear about them is that the fries are bland to which I say:
A. Make you you salt them - they don't pre-salt their fries.
B. Get them well-done
C. Get them animal style - special sauce, grilled onions, and cheese. Essentially West Coast Disco Fries.
The burger was very juicy and majority brisket meat. Bun was soft and delicious.
Maybe it was because you crave red meat in China, but it was delicious. If it was a local joint I would frequent it.
