Hello Sports Nation, as a retired NFL player I've been diagnosed with a cognitive disorder. Please support all athletics cognitive research!

Stories like this will be coming out more and more as players from the 1980s and 1990s reach their 50s/60s and these issues come out. Guyton was an underrated Giant, a big hitter who started as a rookie in 1989 and earned a ring in 1990. I don't fault these guys for getting as much money as they can, when they can, and retiring early (if they can).

sad. Wish him the best.
The very first thing that popped into my head after reading the

thread title was how Guyton delivered some nasty hits. Sad to hear, I hope it's better than expected.
His missed tackle on Thurman Thomas in the Super Bowl...

...was his only missed tackle of the season that year. Not good timing for it, but pretty impressive overall.
I've communicated with Myron a couple of times
on Twitter and this is indeed very sad. He appears to be a very good guy. My prayers are with him...God Bless.
Guyton is a good dude...

spent some time with him back when he was with the team. Very down to earth
Loved Guyton

And I loved Shaun Williams too, he was also a big hitter, I hope he doesn't run into similar problems.
Guyton was a tremenous player, and what value as an 8th round pick.

some wise ass reporter asked Parcells "what's a Myron Guyton?" on draft day. Bill shot back that he's going to be a starter this year.

And he was WAAAY better than Shaun Williams.

Sad news, and good for him to make this public
