Charley Casserly - I know, not the be-all-end-all authority - has started pushing Patrick Mahomes as a very probable first round pick today.
With Mahomes, Watson, Kizer, and Trubisky being all touted as the best potential QBs of the class and all potential first round picks, that bodes well for the Giants, especially given both the headlines that we're looking QB in 1 aren't sound and the number of teams who don't have a franchise QB who might reach to secure one of these guys ahead of us.
How many QBs do you think will go in the first? Is it possible all four of those guys go before the 23rd pick?
That would be my guess also.
Figure TX is drafting one. Jacksonville is a possibility. There is talk in SD of going QB.
Half the NFL could consider buying drafting a QB.
I am thinking only 2 will go, however, but obviously we just have to see what happens.
The draft order through the first and second rounds will be Trubisky, Watson, Mahomes, Webb, Peterman, and Kizer.
The first four will be drafted in the first round. Trubisky and Watson will both be drafted before #23. It's 50/50 whether Mahomes gets drafted before #23, although the Texans could trade up in front of us for him. Webb has also been moving into first round discussion.
Trubisky is the only QB worthy of a first round pick. The rest are 2nd/3rd round players who will be overdrafted because that's what happens every year with QBs. See Christian Ponder and E.J. Manuel.
Trubisky would scare the shit out of me if my team took him high in Rd 1.
