they are probably the only weights he could find. What a shitty gym. More attention paid to the chalk board then actually providing a usable facility. Owners couldn't even bother spackling over the corner bead.
Olympic barbell 45 lbs 2 x 35 lbs plates. Probably just a warmup set.
Those arent 45s. Those are two 10 lb plates stacked on each side for 85lbs with the bar. If he is warming up gor cleans, that seems about right.
If he is setting up to rep out 15 to 20 thrusters, that wright gets heavy very quickly.
Those are 35 lbs plates. Much too tall for 10's.
Wrong- it plainly says 10 lbs on them, they are 10 lb bumper plates. If you do any kind of olympic lifting you have plates all the same size for when you drop the weights.

I always assumed it was for when you picked them up, so a beginner practicing or someone warming up didn't have to change their form from the floor.
Nobody here knows his workout it could be a circuit he could be doing 25 reps of squat clean to press, power cleans, squat thrusts. Stupid to dissect his strength. Clearly he's a monster. Could even being doing split squat lunge to press a million variations. I'm a trainer so right away just looking at his form at the bottom is absolutely perfect. Great extension in the hips and glutes and chest is up head is up. Dude is a beast.
He's likely warming up for cleans based on his setup, though he could be going into some overhead work.
We've seen his explosiveness and strength on the field. It doesn't matter what plates he has on the bar in a stupid instagram picture.
He could be merely warming up, preparing for high volume, or working on technique. For all we know that bar was already loaded on the floor at Brick and he just stepped up to it to pose for a picture.
It's stupid to draw any conclusions from this picture. Also a stupid instagram post.
C'mon!
20 min AMRAP of squat cleans, thrusters and strict presses?
Well, to each his own.
I saw it...why was it weird?
yes, I am
The thread is kind of funny. Certainly no where near "worst thread of the year".
I expect it from the media - they're desperate to turn anything into news these days.
More pathetic is fans stalking these guys on social media 24/7 and obsessing about what they post

Agreed. He's JAG.
I see what you did there. Well played.
Hey, that's arc's move

Wrong. They're Olympic plates and they're all the same size. Plus they very clearly say 10lb.

"he's weight training in the offseason!"
I say trade him. He's obviously not committed. If he wants to workout and have MJ tattoos he is NOT NYG material.
