Wrong- it plainly says 10 lbs on them, they are 10 lb bumper plates. If you do any kind of olympic lifting you have plates all the same size for when you drop the weights.

Wrong. They're Olympic plates and they're all the same size. Plus they very clearly say 10lb.

I always assumed it was for when you picked them up, so a beginner practicing or someone warming up didn't have to change their form from the floor.

They are the same height so you pull from the same spot no matter the weight and so when you drop the bar, the force is distributed equally
Whether it's 10 or 35 it doesn't matter

Nobody here knows his workout it could be a circuit he could be doing 25 reps of squat clean to press, power cleans, squat thrusts. Stupid to dissect his strength. Clearly he's a monster. Could even being doing split squat lunge to press a million variations. I'm a trainer so right away just looking at his form at the bottom is absolutely perfect. Great extension in the hips and glutes and chest is up head is up. Dude is a beast.
Also 16kg plates = slightly over 35lbs

He's likely warming up for cleans based on his setup, though he could be going into some overhead work.

We've seen his explosiveness and strength on the field. It doesn't matter what plates he has on the bar in a stupid instagram picture.

He could be merely warming up, preparing for high volume, or working on technique. For all we know that bar was already loaded on the floor at Brick and he just stepped up to it to pose for a picture.

It's stupid to draw any conclusions from this picture. Also a stupid instagram post.
