We will use this as a discussion thread to keep the picks thread uncluttered. These threads will be used for the duration of the entire draft and will need to be bumped occasionally to push them back to page 1 of the forum.
Once a team is on the clock, they will have two hours to make a selection. If a team goes on the clock after 4pm, their two hour window will roll over to the next day. For example, if you go on the clock at 4:30pm, you will have until 9:30 am to make a selection. Picks may be made between 6pm and 9am if GMs are online and following the draft thread. The time limit only applies during the 9am to 6pm timeframe. If the two hour time limit expires, I will make a pick using any list that the GM for the team has sent me in advance (send lists to the email address in my profile) or in the absence of a list, I will use the
GBN Big Board with a little discretion so as not make an obvious dumb pick (ie: Indianapolis Colts won’t be taking a QB in the 1st round this year). If a GM misses two consecutive picks without providing a prospect list or making some form of contact with me (email or posting on the draft thread) the spot will be reassigned to one of the BBIers who have expressed an interest to fill the vacancy.
Once again, I strongly encourage ALL GMs to utilize the
BBI Mock Draft Spreadsheet . The spreadsheet contains the draft order (RD1-6) by team and GM with a fairly comprehensive list of both available and taken prospects based on the GBN Big Board (as well as several other prospects that did not make the GBN Big Board). I will try to keep the spreadsheet and thread updated as often as possible.
Sweet!
Ahhhhh yeah!
In the final weeks leading up to the draft, more draft analysts have started to place UTEP’s Aaron Jones higher on their draft rankings. Jones is a phenomenal runner that possesses great burst, balance, toughness, vision and pass-catching ability. My favorite of Jones’ skills is his stiff arm which brutally abuses would-be tacklers.
As far as Jones’ character, there will be very few prospects that will shine more than him. He comes from a military family in which both of his parents served on active duty in the US Army. Jones has a core set of values and work ethic not normally seen from a man of his age.
He can back up Carlos Hyde as well as bring a dangerous passing element out of the backfield befitting of a Kyle Shanahan offense.
Eric Gamboa/FanSided
Titans need a deep threat in the passing game in the worst way and Gibson will provide that. He reminds me of a poor man's Desean Jackson.
Rd 1 - Haason Reddick, DE\OLB Temple
Rd 3 - Ethan Pocic, C LSU
Rd 3 - Noah Brown, WR Ohio State
Rd 4 - Howard Wilson, CB Houston
Rd 5 - Shelton Gibson, WR West Virginia
Feel like we've addressed majority of all their needs on the O-Line, Pass Rusher, CB and reshaped the weapons that Marcus Mariota has to throw to in the passing game with Howard, Brown and Gibson.
166. Miami (Optimus-NY)
167. New York Giants (Andy in Halifax)
168. Oakland (Amtoft)
YAJ is up... anyone have his email? Don't think it will get to me so I will send in a board for tomorrow morning.
RD2: Taylor Moton – OT – Western Michigan
RD3: Ahkello Witherspoon – CB – Colorado
RD4: Kendell Beckwith – ILB – LSU
RD4: Taywan Taylor – WR – Western Kentucky
RD5: Rayshawn Jenkins – FS – Miami (Fla.)
I am very happy with the results for the Houston Texans. We have helped out our Offense by getting our leader of the present and future. We have also added some great talent (and a little bit of nasty) for our already stellar Defense. I think the fans would approve.
I will try to check from my phone, but please try monitor if your pick is coming up...
EA has until 11 AM
Magnuson looked attractive because the Giants have shown interest, and he's among the last credible RT prospects on the board. That's not to say I would mind Conner in the fifth - just that he doesn't stand out that much from the alternatives, except maybe on the character front.
Jerod has a lightening fast release, and Big Ben'esk running ability. He is a project, but Paxton Lynch and Andy Dalton have both come from this offensive system. He has the goods to be very good, and he had really impressive numbers in his loan year in FBS.
Given the time to sit and learn behind Big Ben, he could be the eventual replacement, but for now, if Big Ben pulls some Farve crap, Pitt has some sort of a backup plan.

Mike, I just hack you. Saves time on my research. Honestly, I almost took this guy last round. Absolutely love his film. I don't care how tall he is, dude can play football. Such a fun guy to watch on film.
For my pick Davon Godchaux I had very close to Vincent. He isn't as long as Vincent, strong, or fast, but he is talented. He plays true team ball and a plays his part while also being very good at rushing the passer from the inside. He had 74 combined pressures (14 sacks, 15 hits and 45 hurries) in his final two years in college including 17 knockdowns and 32 total pressures in 2017. I love the value because in the real draft he should go late 3rd to early 4th.
DT DJ Jones is a guy that almost moved to the top of my list after the Raiders released Dan Williams. He is not tall, but a wide body stout guy in the middle. Athletically a man 319 lbs shouldn't be able to run 5.04... The reason though I couldn't put him ahead of either Vincent or Godchaux is he didn't make enough plays and wasn't on the field nearly as much. He feels like a 2 down run stuffer which is very good pick to get in the 5th.
The pick of RB James Conner by the Giants. I am a fan of his. Not just his story which is amazing, but he before his lymphoma he looked quicker than his 4.65 he ran at the combine. I think he can still get some of that speed back. Not he isn't going to be a 4.5 or below guy, but I think he could be a 4.55-4.6 guy. He is exactly what the Giants need to pair with Perkins. A guy who can pound the ball up the middle and eat up yards especially in short yardage situations. In almost 700 touches in his career he only fumbled 6 times. What is amazing about that is most of his runs are power runs right at people pushing piles. Last year 237 power touches and only 1 fumble.
Another great pick here. Blair will go higher than this. He has something like 4 missed tackles last year which is one of the best in college football. One year starter for a smaller team means he gets missed by BBI. Nice pick.

PFF is very high on Taylor, has him ranked as their 5th DT, ahead of Wormley.

I couldn't find any gifs on him so I took one of my favorite clips from youtube and made it, haha.

Well done. I got to learn how to do that.
023. David Njoku, TE, Miami (!)
055. Jordan Willis, DE, Kansas State
087. Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado
140. Will Holden, OT, Vanderbilt
167 was going to be Vincent Taylor, but Miami took him at 166. BPA discipline would have pointed toward Jessamen Dunker, Rayshawn Jenkins and others. I probably would have done the dumb, knee-jerk thing and reached for a different DT. Godchaux, D.J.Jones and Tanzel Smart don't really fit Hankins's shoes, so I might have gambled on Jarron Jones, who looks the part if nothing else. Charles Walker is a sleeper DT option too, if the lingering concussion effects haven't knocked him out of consideration altogether.
