Judge is hitting the ball harder than i've ever seen it hit by someone in pinstripes. He is going to knock someone over and get an infield hit on a ball that doesn't leave someone's glove.

Have the Rays feed on and they are amazed at Judges off the bat speed. Said with today's speed the mound may be too close to be safe. Showed the liner over Jumbo Diaz and how the ball was past before he reacted.
Maybe on the throw from right, but you don't expect the ball half way up the 3rd base line - Thompson had already stopped him.
The wild pitch he would have been out. Headley is a decent baserunner.
He's had a bad ankle for awhile now and he's a bit rusty. Timing is off. Playing is the only remedy
He's staring at strikes down the middle. It's his confidence. Have to keep playing him but soon they need to make a decision can't trot a guy out there batting 059 in the 3 hole
I don't think Severino had his best stuff, or even that close to it. He threw just enough strikes early in the game, but when he missed the zone he wasn't that close. It led to some inefficiency, which is why I think he started focusing on the fastball early in counts and grooved that home run pitch to Bourjos.
Frankly, I thought he had better stuff against the Orioles. He just made 2 critical mistakes in that game -- he walked the free-swinging Adam Jones with the bases empty, and he learned that challenging Machado with the inner-half fastball is a stupid hill to die on.
I do worry about him not using the changeup almost at all. Despite all of the offseason talk, he's still only a 2-pitch pitcher right now, which is a significant concern.
Hopefully he can build on this. It appears that an unattended consequence of his weight lifting was that it screwed up his pitching mechanics. Lets hope this is an indication that he is getting back to where he was.
If you believe fangraphs, he's thrown his changeup this season just under 8% of the time. That's pretty low for a guy who only has 2 other pitches.
And it really is too fast. 90 MPH vs 96 MPH is not a big enough gap to lead to swings and misses. Needs to be 85/86.
But he is throwing it (which is good) and that was what Bourjos hit for the HR (left it up).
Sevy doesn't get enough separation between his change and his fastball. His fastball is running 97-99 and his change is 90-91. IOW his change doesn't quite look like a change.
His command was better last night, though, which was enough to succeed with his pure stuff. Still a work in progress, but after last season's disastrous starts his performance is encouraging.
...I think it was the 3rd or 4th inning with the bases loaded and 2 outs.
He got a flat dead red fast ball and just missed it. Put a real good swing on it but he fouled it off.
So, Castro has 2 strikes on him.
Question:
Do major league ball players today ever F-ing cut down on their swing with two F-ing strikes in order to increase the odds of putting the F-ing ball in play?
Not Castro.
He loads up on a pitch in the dirt. Didn't come close. Strike three; inning over; 3 men left on base.
But we got to see Castro swing for the fences as he was striking out.
You can lose a lot of ball games with that mentality.

Even his outs, like that grounder, are bullets

Judge looks so much better than last year.

I am not as positive, Offense looks terrible today but let's fucking goooooooo!!!
Excellent showing. Love Sevy. Pulling so much for him this season. Cmon Offense let's get this kid off the hook at least.
And Headley is still our leading hitter. Revenge of the BBI whipping boys!
Seriously, good win and nice pitching by Sevy ...
Dellin and Aroldis not very sharpe, but at 100 mph you have some slop.
Nice sweep.

Post says a FB. During the game they said change up. RAB or the Post said he threw 28 change ups. Interesting.
