is a character. He just made an awkward joke about Carrie Fisher.
Mark Hamill is great. He is generally a fun interview. And, even though he was pretty much out of the limelight after ROTJ, he has had a very active career in voice overs.
That line is crazy. As he was saying it, I thought it would be the opposite, like "It's time for the Jedi to be reborn" or something similar but I guess that would be too obvious/cheesy.
I had goosebumps when the trailer started. That looks good.
We don't know the timing of the jedi comment. Maybe it is near the beginning and Rey (or Leia) convinces him otherwise. Maybe he is the last. Maybe Rey. Maybe neither.
Or is she a normal person thrust into a much bigger situation?
I think Finn may also be force-sensitive. There are a few moments in TFA that hint at it, aside from him using the light-saber, which doesn't really mean anything IMO. There's also a part in the TFA novelization but not the movie that sounded like a strong hint to me.
I have the feeling that's not the whole line/thought. I've got to think there's more, like "...end...this conflict (or hiding from the universe)"...or something.

That could very well be, but also Luke might have also given up on the order after all that's happened and Rey coaxes him into training her.
So great to be a Star Wars fan these days ,Cant wait to go action figure hunting tomorrow for the 40Th anniversary figures !!!
They had them all in a Toys R Us in Kuala Lumpur airport the other day. I didn't like them that much. Cloth on the Leia figure and they didn't look that nice (like marvel/dc figures etc). The boxes/packs were nice though.

I think you're right that it's probably in the beginning of the movie bc Luke is obviously training Rey in other parts of the trailer. Maybe the whole idea of the Jedi as they once were is what he is referring to. I assume that in the SW universe there will always have force-sensitive individuals who need to learn to use their power for good and not evil but maybe he doesn't think they need to have a whole structure and council and everything.
of those scenes wont be in the movie like the Rogue One trailers ,I know for the Force Awakens most of the trailers were scenes in the movie except for I think the Kylo Ren part on the very first teaser trailer in November 2014 but the Rogue one trailers had a ton that were not in the movie and they were some very cool shots too like when the storm troopers are walking through the water on Scaiff ,Most likely those shots were before the reshoots and there are no delated scenes on the blu ray so who knows at this point.Iam hoping for some answers at the Rogue One panel @ 1/;30
Awakens was damn good if formulaic as many of JJ's films are
In TFA it was a vision; in Last Jedi, the pullback revels the Jedi Temple (I think, right?) in flames. Was it torched as Luke defended it, or did they arrive on scene to find it ablaze? Or did Luke contribute to it, symbolically felling it to show a more forceful (no pun intended) Jedi response to the First Order and Sith alike that these aren't your father's Jedi?
I think this will probably play out to mean the end of the Jedi as we know them. The played with the fuzzy line between good and evil/good people doing bad things angle a lot in Rogue One. I think this could be a further development in line with that. Essentially, Luke breaks from the (Jedi) Church and teaches Rey to trust herself and the force because the Jedi absolutist dogma ultimately helped create some really bad dudes (i.e., Vader and Kylo Ren). Dunno, just a thought.

I'd say either they arrived on scene to find it burning after the Knights of Ren slaughtered the young Jedi's Luke was training, or Luke himself torched it after said massacre, which would lend explain why he thinks it's time for the Jedi to end.
So excited for the movie but I thought the trailer was meh.

I agree with this. I think there will be no more Jedi (or Sith) just force users that can use light and dark powers. Some will use it for good and some for evil.
the next big question is who is Snoke ??? Is it Ezra Bridger from Rebels ? Is it Darth Plagueis or is it a totally new character with no ties to the original trilogy and cartoon spinoffs ?
All along we have assumed the title "The Last Jedi" could mean someone was going to die, but what about a fall from grace. Throughout Return of the Jedi, Luke was always teetering on the edge between the light and the dark. And look at the poster. The blue, possibly from a lightsaber, transforms into red, with Luke looking kind of creepy bathed in red. What if Luke falls to the dark side?

Most likely Darth Plagueis...his music is very similar to the episode 3 opera music when Sidious tells Anakin to join the sith

I have two theories. The first and more likely is that Luke has lost hope after the loss of his nephew to the dark side leading to the death of Han Solo. It takes some time but Rey convinces him to train her and he begins to regain hope.
My second theory is that Luke has found a middle ground between the dark side and the light and is no longer considered a jedi. Luke at times get lost to the dark side and at some point in the final two movies Rey, Leia, etc end up saving him and bringing him back to the light. I just hope they don't kill him off.

For Snoke to be Darth Plagueis, they would have to change the backstories pretty significantly, which is totally fair game. Just on the surface, in the EU Darth P is a Muun with yellow eyes. Snoke is a deformed humanoid with light blue eyes.
be Plaguis. For it to be him.. it would mean that he was indeed able to cheat death and is the most powerful Sith ever. He essentially outwitted and outsmarted Darth Sidious. I think it would add gravity to how badass he really is. Abrahms or somebody squashed it though although they could have been deflecting.
They do look similar but according to Snoke's Wookiepedia page (that cites the book "The Art of Star Wars"), Snoke's appearance was changed many times by the production team throughout the film's development. They even considered making him female. You would think if they had Darth P in mind from the beginning, this wouldn't have been an issue. But like you said, this could all be to preserve the surprise, not that JJ Abrams is especially good at that sort of thing (Kahn!)
It is going to be an eternity until December. Star Wars was ingrained in me in my childhood and this next installment looks to me to be even better than FA, though FA was a little too much of a retelling of A New Hope for me, but I still enjoyed it and loved Rogue One.
I agree that it's good these are teasers that don't reveal too much. I like the poster, especially with Rey. My husband is as excited as I am - we had a significant Star Wars theme to our wedding (though didn't go so far as to walk out under lightsabers).

I like second theory since in the books Luke goes to the dark side for a period of time to get the full gravity of the force. It's possible he comes back and creates a new order that teaches the full grasp of the force. Also it would be like Dragonballz in a way where they have Super Sayain and Super Saysin 2 etc.
So excited.
Yeah, what does that mean? Wow, I'm so excited for this. Can't wait, and I love the secrecy.
Did anyone notice the Millennium Falcon flying by.....I wonder who was piloting it?????

I kind of feel like Finn and Chewie are going to be the new captains of the Falcon. Just the impression I got from the last film.

Agree on the line about the last Jedi.....
but there are two training on the cliff.............One presumably Luke and the other......Rey?

Definitely Rey training on the cliff with Luke. Rey is a Jedi.

Im hoping that Luke finds the temple burned and destroyed to open the movie.
Out walks Kylo and the Knights of Ren.
Luke savagely kills all of them while Kylo escapes.
Luke realizes he's not a jedi anymore, too dark in the aftermath.

Take a friggin chance and create something new (just don't get gungan cute in the process).

Going to see any new Star Wars movie regardless, but I like how they're committed to a degree of secrecy
