NFT: NY Rangers at Montreal Canadiens - Game 2 - tonight 7p

B in ALB : 4/14/2017 12:35 pm
Well here we are comrades. Game 2. Up 1-0. Huge opportunity for the squad following a nice win on Wednesday.

Biggest game of the year.

Let me repeat that.

Biggest game of the year.

We simply cannot allow the whiners from Montreal tie the series up at one. Cannot. Allow. It. They're going to be in full desperation mode tonight skating like hell, hitting everything that moves, and of course crying, bitching and moaning to the refs. It wouldn't be a game against the Canadiens if their players, coaches and fans weren't crying about something. Weather the storm, stay composed, and don't get sucked into the CONNERIE that is certain to come.

We need a big game from everyone here tonight. You know who you are. And you know what to do.

Biggest game of the year.

Biggest. Game. Of. The. Year.

LGR.

Sad but true. However under Bettman it's been instituted league wide in playoff series. Not just in Montreal.

last game?

MTL 20 PIMs
NYR 8 PIMs

sure seemed like a lot of Rangers fans with their vaginas exposed in that last thread, I expect nothing less in tonight's thread.

Be honest, you have had that post ready to go all morning waiting for the thread start.

It is actually pretty funny. But even you would admit that there were a ton of non-calls that favored the Habs.

I think there were non-calls both ways and if I gave a shit about non-calls in hockey the two hits from behind committed by the Rangers AND the blatant knee on knee leg trip that wasn't called would be a whole hell of a lot worse than the missed clutching and grabbing that happens in every game. Those are the plays the league is cracking down on from a player safety perspective.

I thought it was a fairly officiated game. It was not decided by the refs, and the PIM total of 20 to 8 should leave no Rangers fan whining about anything.

And I seriously just created that right before I posted it.

and I think you all know it's in good fun.

Nothing like playoff hockey and like many of you, my entire family is all Rangers and Yankees fans, so it's not often I get to trash talk. Only this really isn't the year for it (so far).

Kyle in NY : 4/14/2017 12:59 pm : link
in the fan game thread you're not going to find it. Kinda pathetic you feel the need to copy and paste a bunch of posts you had ready to go for two days now. Fans complain about officials, get over it

You got a Canadiens fan message board? Maybe head there if you're gonna get all pissy about something literally all fan groups do. Unless it's all in French.

Either way, to quote the great Torts, "Shut your yap."
PJ
figgy2989 : 4/14/2017 1:01 pm : link
Agreed to it going both ways. I am just busting your balls, you are one of the great hockey posters on the site. It just so happens that you are a Habs fan on a board domintated by Rangers fans.
And let's at least be transparent
Kyle in NY : 4/14/2017 1:03 pm : link
with the penalty minutes. 12 of those 20 on MTL came in the final seconds, 10 of which were the misconduct on Markov for the dirty spear he gave Nash.
....
BrettNYG10 : 4/14/2017 1:05 pm : link
If the refs were fair the Rangers would have had a 5 on 3 the entire 60 minutes.
Kyle
figgy2989 : 4/14/2017 1:05 pm : link
That's is kind of what I was alluding to. Although there were missed calls on both sides, it seemed the refs missed more for the Habs.

I didn't save anything, I went to "my threads" to see threads I posted on and found the game from Wednesday and scanned for some comments I wanted to share to emphasize my point.

It took about 3 minutes, if that's pathetic, then yes I'm guilty. I've spent more time on worse things.

I don't want or expect rationality, but it doesn't mean I can't call out the irrational behavior.

and 2 of the Rangers penalties were too. Still makes it 8 - 6.

Again though I don't give a shit about non-called penalties for the most part. There was nothing done by the Canadiens that was dangerous, reckless, or risking injury that wasn't called.

and lay off Markov. The guy is 38 years old. When you're 38 and still playing 1st line D in the NHL you are allowed certain transgressions. Nash didn't seem to mind (lol).

His brother-in-law invited us to go to the all-star game when it was n NSH, but I couldn't go, sounded like a fun time.

I thought Girardi
pjcas18 : 4/14/2017 1:34 pm : link
was fine. dude blocks shots like he has a rubber attracting magnet on his skates.

Staal and Holden I thought were both pretty brutal and I did not think Smith played as well as most of you, thought he had a decent game, not great.

Skjei was good, needs to get more involved offensively. I like his offensive game, he's somewhat tentative still and I don't blame him.
No Bashing of Glass?
Samiam : 4/14/2017 1:39 pm : link
Not close to a hockey expert but I love how Glasx gets bashed here and in Blueshirt Banter all the time. Everyone knows more than the coach. Now there's silence
Nothing about Glass to bash right now after
B in ALB : 4/14/2017 1:44 pm : link
playing ok last game. That's how it goes. And he brings some semblance of physicality against a team that's looking to throw its weight around at home. The goal was a huge bonus, even if a bit lucky.
Glass still sucks.

Played a very good game, AV called it his best game as a Ranger, but I guess if you start to think he might be starting to play really good it gives the Ranger fans some hope, I guess that is what your out to do, discourage the excitement with criticism that you would see on any hockey thread and I'm sure the same fucking thing you do during a game, but it's easy to look at someone else other then yourself. Have fun, but understand your wasting your time, there isn't a hickey fan alive that doesn't know that Montreal gets the benefit of the doubts with the calls, and with this head coach who happens top be a dirty fuck, it makes for a very spirited watch for us Ranger fans.

Loser mentality. No one who watched that game other than Rangers fans felt Montreal got any favorable treatment from the refs. If anything, unbiased people would have to say the opposite.

A faceoff violation on a PP faceoff, LOL. Sure those Canadian refs are so going out of their way to not call shit on Montreal I can't stand it. How can the Rangers win with the refs so biased? Boo-hoo.

I don't care if you think it or not. You are entitled to your opinion, but you're wrong.

And history has zero to do with Wednesday night.
I don't mind about the bitching during the game
BrettNYG10 : 4/14/2017 3:59 pm : link
But complaining about it two days later in a game the team we root for won is silly.

Fuck the refs in the Kings series, though.

I have no issue with your opinion, I needed another quote to beef up my post.

Like I said, Gallagher is a player you like when he's on your team, I'd hate him too if I weren't a Habs fan.

He definitely plays with an edge and as a small player he's one of many in that mold and probably feels he has to play that way to succeed. I think it does take away from his offense a little, since I do think he's a skilled player, but he's involved in every scrum.

Julien confirms
pjcas18 : 4/14/2017 5:46 pm : link
no lineup changes.

Smart, surround Galchenyuk with two skill-less players to force him to lose his last shred of confidence as well as make him pretty useless.

Might as well not offer him a contract after the season if Julien is still the coach.
