Well here we are comrades. Game 2. Up 1-0. Huge opportunity for the squad following a nice win on Wednesday.
Biggest game of the year.
Let me repeat that.
Biggest game of the year.
We simply cannot allow the whiners from Montreal tie the series up at one. Cannot. Allow. It. They're going to be in full desperation mode tonight skating like hell, hitting everything that moves, and of course crying, bitching and moaning to the refs. It wouldn't be a game against the Canadiens if their players, coaches and fans weren't crying about something. Weather the storm, stay composed, and don't get sucked into the CONNERIE that is certain to come.
We need a big game from everyone here tonight. You know who you are. And you know what to do.
Biggest game of the year.
Biggest. Game. Of. The. Year.
LGR.
Weber probably isn't dirty, fine. But he walks the line. I was more giving him credit for the play on Grabner, doing whatever it took there, and instead more frustrated for it being allowed to go without a call. It literally saved the game
I completely agree with that. I like Yandle, but I think he needs to be paired with a guy like Weber or Pronger or Chara in today's league or old schoolers like Ken Daneyko, to balance the play. I definitely wouldn't limit his playing time. he'd be a top 4 defenseman on most teams.
You saw a good example last night when Beaulieu got caught with a bouncing puck and Nesterov (not a stay at home defenseman) didn't cede the blue line and it led to the Grabner breakaway. Now Beaulieu is not Yandle, but he's getting there, just needs to be partnered with someone more defensive minded (like Emelin).

Ott's hit on Zuccarello was the biggest questionable play by the Canadiens that I saw that wasn't called. They only showed one replay of it in my view (USA Network) and it was at best borderline, but the way Zuccarello's head went back that hit usually gets called, the hockey is a real time game reffed by humans in real time and if that was the worst call that didn't get called I think the refs are doing a good job.
I thought the refs did fine in both games and I don't think they contributed to the outcome in either game. I think both teams have gripes about calls, but neither received a noticeable advantage (to me).
And for the record I'd sit Ott for Torrey Mitchell or Michael McCarron, Mitchell is a good face guy and has some offensive skill and McCarron is a physical specimen who has a better offensive game than Ott (though still learning on D). Not sure if Mitchell is injured or just a healthy scratch for Ott, but I don't like that call.

That hit on Zucc was predatory.

I guess I give him credit for knowing they're never gonna call anything in that spot. Wish Holden would do the same once he loses his stick and just wrap up Plekanac but instead he decides to go to his knees in the crease.
I've always thought teams should be willing to take more penalties late in an empty net situation when the other team has had you hemmed in for a while. Especially when one of your players has lost his stick anyway. And while 6-on-4 isn't easy, it does at least take away icings so fire away from deep at the empty net.

sweet pass to Brassard, not many players can do that.
One of the dumbest penalties I've seen in a while by Chara. and I hate the mandatory over the glass penalty.
Bruins gave up a 2 goal 3rd period lead.
Love OT playoff hockey.
Nothing short of ridiculous. The Holden-Staal pairing have been shit all season (when they've been paired together, that is)

I thought the Preds were a better team than their regular season record indicated and would give the Hawks a tough series. But they look like they're going to go up 2-0 in the series. Impressive.
THE MAPLE LEAFS!
You guys never learn - the Caps will ALWAYS disappoint
