COOK-guy already has a large posse & they were cherry-picking teams for him to visit. Actually, with all the viral stuff on Mixon, this guy makes him out to be an angel. Never keen on Cook's running style, as only Eddie George got away with running so upright.
The character everyone wants to tote the ball for them is Fournette & I fully expect that either Carolina or Cincy will move up (Jets?) to try to snare him, unless an "old Giants coach" in the Jax front office snatches him first (Coughlin not a Yeldon fan).
As for the QBS? Trubisky is buyer beware to me - has a lot of Jared Goff/Tony Eason traits. Come on - the kid could not beat out freaking Marcus Williams, a Venus de Milo QB if I ever saw one & if some team wants to invest millions in the guy, God Bless.
Watson is another version of Bridgewater - exciting, yet fragile. Kizer? Boy, there are times where he makes JaMarcus Russell look like a genius. Webb is interesting, especially from a Big Blue aspect in Round 2, but there is a lot of Ryan Mallett (work ethic) things he needs to work out.
On MONDAY-I will delve into the QB class from a Giants stand point - who fits, who does not & where to get him in the draft. Expect lots of Jerod Evans talk from me (hint, hint).
To me, I love Mahomes, but he has a lot of Kaepernick gunslinger in him. However, he's also a Tony Romo type that will listen, learn & adjust.
STILL-wait until you read my notes on the QB Class that will rival 1983. The guys I am witnessing first hand on the West Coast that will litter the first round of the 2018 draft.
I didn't know Webb had work ethic issue. I knew he dodged competition even though that probably turned out to be a smart move.
He looked good in the all star game.
The ONLY knock on him personality wise is his loyalty- as he did commit to Colorado last year before leaving them holding the bag at the last minute to head to Cal.
The quality and the quantity of the QBs will be far superior next year. There may be as many as 5 franchise quality QBs in next years draft.
Dave - Te, how would this years group of QBs compare with Darnold, Rosen, Allen, L. Jackson, Faulk, Stidham, Rudolph, and even Mayfield, Browne, Fitzgerald, Litton, Ferguson, Flowers, Linehan, etc. ?
If Eli gets injured , it does not matter who will replace him, the Giants will be awful and get an early pick next year.
The Giants have (4) QBs on their roster. It would be unlike the Giants to carry 3-4 QBs next year.
The Giants are in a win now mode and I do not think they can afford to spend a high draft pick on a developmental player.
I think his floor is Tannehill. I've seen him come up big so many times making huge, NFL clutch throws, just an impressive passer from the pocket with the athletic upside. I do think all the other QBs in this draft are a crap shoot. I like Watson a lot but he sure did turn the ball over a lot also.

There are many reasons to wait until next year to select a QB.

WILDCARD FOR 2018-I am a big Browne fan
I am NOT crazy about the "Big 3" in 2017
