NFT: Premier League Easter Weekend: We might have a title race

dpinzow : 4/16/2017 1:20 pm
Yesterday Spurs beat Bournemouth 4-0 for their 7th straight league win. Chelsea lost 2-0 to Man United at Old Trafford, keeping Man U's Champions League hopes alive and reducing the Chelsea lead to 4 points with 6 games remaining for each team. Still think Chelsea wins the title because their run-in is easier than Spurs but things are finally getting interesting at the top of the Prem table

Chelsea run-in:

Southampton
@ Everton
Middlesbrough
@ West Brom
Watford
Sunderland

Spurs run-in:

@ Palace
Arsenal
@ West Ham
Man Utd
@ Leicester
@ Hull
Been a Spurs fan for almost two decades

and have been delighted to see the team in contention this late in the season for the second straight years. Unfortunately I agree though that Chelsea will still end up on top. Spurs need to basically win out while Chelsea post less than 15 points in their last 6 matches, and four of those matches are at Stamford Bridge against bottom dwellers.

The next practice Conte has with Chelsea should be interesting

Looks like Chelsea has one tough game left (Everton) and MU two (Palace and Leicester). Palace looked pretty impressive coming back against Leicester, Big Sam has them playing well. No doubt TV (and the British press) is loving a real race here!

Dpinzow, what do you think Leicester's chances are against Athletico at King Power? I though the Foxes looked good in a VERY intimidating environment, and had the worst luck with that penalty call. I do expect them to score at home, but we'll see.
Sorry, Spurs have two tough games left

not MU...

I think Atletico gets the draw they need to move on, but stranger things have happened, and Leicester at the King Power has some magic
Additionally, the hard part for Leicester
dpinzow : 4/16/2017 3:13 pm : link
is that if Atletico scores 1, they have to score 3 to win since they didn't get an away goal
Man U plays at spurs, at Arsenal, at man city still.

They are four points behind man city with a game at hand. The fight for the top four could be exciting!
I think Man U has to beat Man City to have a chance at the top 4

Liverpool has 5 games, 3 at Anfield, none of them against a team in the top 7, so they look like they're in good shape for the top 4

Aside from the Manchester derby, Man City doesn't have a difficult-looking game in their run in other than possibly Leicester, but that is at the Etihad. They do have a potential FA Cup final to deal with but their squad is big enough to deal with fixture congestion
Arsenal is a mess right now

Arsenal do not attract the best players in the world any more, claims Gunners legend Thierry Henry: 'Why would they come to the Emirates?'

I have no idea how Wegner has survived this long. He must have really incriminating pictures of Stan Kroenke!

Spurs also have home matches against Man U and Arsenal.
Spurs are the best team

but definitely have the more challenging run-in and are trailing by 4 points. Spurs only hope is that Conte has run Chelsea into the ground with a lack of squad substitution.
If we could just get rid of Bournemouth, Swansea and the like

Liverpool would be the best team. :)
Just when you think Mourinho has lost it

He pulls yesterday out his ass and reminds you why he's won so much.
What did he do?

The players won. Man U would be in the top 2 if they didn't tie so many times. They are a good team.
