FROM DAVE TE-DO NOT TRASH OTHER READERS

nflscouting : 4/16/2017 2:14 pm
Hey guys, you were getting on an Eagles fan & not that was not appreciated here. Let's keep this all civil & invite any "cousins" to join in a respectful manner. Like I stated on the post to those trashers - keep doing it & I am out of here, so be cool. you never know, some guy in another town might just know something some of us here do not know. I just want this to be a cool place for all, not someone trying to stake their turf by peeing on a hydrant.
Amen

Dave.
I rarely, if ever, have a problem with
Big Blue '56 : 4/16/2017 2:31 pm : link
another fan, from another team opining here..What I and many others despise are other teams' trolls who come on here to incite..Otherwise, not a problem..
Most of the problems sadly
JohnF : 4/16/2017 2:50 pm : link
seem to be from BBI guys who get duplicate accounts and pretend to be from another team (to troll..and argue with themselves!!!).

Fans, for the most part, are pretty good away from games (there's some natural banter). Hopefully, the mods will shut the dups down right away.

I've been to CFL championships, and it's a whole other fan experience. Fans from other teams up there really bond together that week, to celebrate "their" championship game, and it makes it a really special occasion!
Let's Just Enjoy the Process

One of the reasons I like interacting with fans is sites like this. Packers, Vikings, Broncos, Pats & Jets join the Big Blue crew as the best & most knowledgeable. Cleveland? Would not even think of reading their fans' pooh. If anyone, Big Blue or other team fan starts bullying tactics, I am just going to either ignore, or invite them to visit me in Arizona for an MMA match. We get enough crap every second coming out of the White House & just don't want to get into it here. PS-this is the only site I came back to this year -you guys always make me feel at home
Dave, I asked this in another thread, but I'm sure it got buried:

Would you be kind enough to give a brief synopsis on Flowers coming out of college and your present thoughts moving forward? If you've discussed this in another thread, please point to it..Thanks

Remind me on Flowers on Friday PM-on assignment in Utah & Dakotas this week & don't travel with archived reports, but certain I said he was "no left tackle," citing poor hand placement & kick slide compared to when he played ROT earlier in his Hurricanes career. Can pull the full report when I get back & yes, this ole boy missed the question. There was one monster post that I probably missed one or six on, but I tried to get to everything I saw-sorry
Dave, why is there "perceived" movement since football has ended?
George from PA : 4/16/2017 4:57 pm : link
Does it make sense to have such improvement after they stop playing?

Especially, if scouts have been following these players for years? Please explain what causes these changes so late in the process. Thanks
Why Guys Move Up & Down
nflscouting : 4/16/2017 6:04 pm : link
It is my biggest b#tch in the industry - scouts see these kids for up to four years, yet when all is said & done, the position coach/coordinator/head coach - guys that only saw these kids in their undies or on film, get the bulk of attention from the GM & pro coordinator in the war room. In most instances, the scouting industry as changed. Years ago, you got in a car on Labor Day & came home for Thanksgiving. You would spend days on a certain campus, bring doughnuts for the coaches room, watch tapes & practices & might stay for a game.
These days? Fly in, get the questionaire filled out, ask for ANY tapes, home for dinner. I miss the old days, thus being on the road currently at spring drills. I like time to make the proper decision on the guy rather than play hit & miss with a quick decision.

SCOUTING REPORT COMPARISON...These days, if you get a few pages on a kid, it seems to suffice some teams. Me? I can't remember any of my reports being under 100 pages on a guy. I will get everything but what hand they wipe their butt with - I save that for coaches at the Combine.

AFTER THE DRAFT-If the moderators let me, I can break down each position, what I look for there in a player & show how I go about formulating & what info I compile in my reports. Get lasix surgery first, as each will be a very long read
Holy crap, scouting,

one of the funniest posts of all time was from a redskin fan

Derp derpity derp
Thanks.....

So catching someone on a good day by a coach might overrule all the due diligence.

Interesting.....

I have always felt Belicheck does a great job wheeling dealing the picks for the draft...But never actually drafted well.

Other then drafting Brady (which now I know it was thanks to you.) No one can argue his overall success.
Dave, what I am going to ask you to cover..
EricJ : 4/16/2017 10:55 pm : link
is not related to this draft. So, I can understand if you would prefer to table this for a little while.

If you have been watching this forum for a while, the you know this place is a bit like the Hatfields' vs the McCoy's when it comes to Eli Manning.

Some are blaming much of the offensive struggles on him and others are thinking Eli shoulders little to no blame for the offensive problems and it is all on the OL, play calling or a combination of the two.

Would love for you to weigh in on this and tell us what you see when you watched this offense last year.

'DO NOT TRASH OTHER READERS'...
Torrag : 4/16/2017 11:30 pm : link
...let's be reasonable and add unless they really deserve it. This is still America and a censorship mindset is bad for the electorate and freedom in general. And BBI has too much of it going on ready. A good flame job on a post that deserves it brings a certain value to the site. Just sayin'.

If someone comes here looking for legitimate football discussion - regardless of what team they root for, give them a break. I don't think it adds anything to BBI to tell people to fuck off just because they root for the Eagles or Cowboys or whoever.

There's a difference between a fan of a rival team who comes here looking to do nothing but stir it up and annoy people and someone who is just here for honest football discussion from perhaps a different perspective.

If it's the latter, it's not a big deal. It's sports. Over the years, we've had a few guys here who root for other teams but have contributed to football discussion. No reason to go crazy about it.

I recall there being a very good poster who was fan of another NFC East team (maybe Skins?). Think he eventually got chased away by enough "f off, you root for the [other team]" posts. We shouldn't do that.

Yep. No reason to chase off people who are simply looking to talk football. In fact, I enjoy getting perspective from fans of other teams sometimes.
hey, I married an Eagles fan

of course the reason I started dating her in the first place is I knew she wouldn't be expecting a ring anytime soon.

Eagle fans can have smart football discussions? Am I missing something here?
anyone who has visited BBI

for a day knows damn well that not all Giants fans measure up in the intelligence department. It's the same for all teams. Fans come in different shapes and sizes, and NONE OF THEM deserve to be berated. If you think they are idiots, ignore them. engaging them in a negative manner only makes you an idiot as well.
