great to see the Bird Man raking too. Oh and Molina was an absolute embarrassment behind the plate this series. Starting Friday night when he couldn't be bothered to reach for the throw and jogged after it letting Ellsbury steal a run. How many passed balls did he have this weekend? I get it the Cards suck this year and he's used to contending, but he just signed a huge multi-year deal and thats the pathetic effort he gives all weekend? He literally mailed this series in. I'f I'm management I'd have a serious sit down with him after this debacle.
The boys are having fun. Overcoming bad calls; taking advantage of opportunities; playing decent defense. Success breeding confidence.
Couple guys playing over their head, a couple under performing and a few big players missing.
gave us exactly what we had been expecting for a couple of years. The talent has never been a question for either one. It has been the consistency.
For me, Severino was a huge question mark and disappointment. I thought he would have to work out his issues in the minors. Thus far, he has proven me wrong in a big way and I am thrilled because this is the guy I expected 2 years ago.

Props on the mea culpa. You may still turn out to be right; it's early. In your defense, baseball is the hardest sport to project young players.

Yes, because with such long seasons, after a few, young players aren't so young any longer. Severino is at a critical juncture in his career this season. The last two starts were very powerful for him.
Hard to expect the starters to remain this consistent or some of the contributions we are getting to continue, but it is a lot of fun. And all without Sanchez and Didi, too.
The two Aarons look so confident and comfortable at the plate too. Such a difference from last year where they both seemed to be fighting themselves up there.
Fully admit I've long been on the Headley sucks bandwagon...happy to eat crow. Looks extremely confident at the plate, not chasing bad pitches or trying to over-hit, and he's been an OBP machine
I know we like to debate Girardis lineups, and he's looking pretty smart right now - but I really think he could be hitting Headley 2nd for now
Well, it's a small sample so we'll see what he does going forward
I can't believe Headley is playing like this. He's been trash as a Yankee for the most part, but here he is having a hell of a hot streak to start the year. If he can just be "above-average" for us this year, I'll take it.
With an MVP-conversation season a few years ago. I didn't think he would be this good and I doubt he will do this all year, but the hatred for him was borderline irrational. Nowhere near Ellsbury's class of albatross deal. Second half 2016 Headley was playing at or around his contract, value-wise.
Three - Judge's HR; the dropped FC with Bird going the 2nd and this fly.
severely over throwing....

Yeah, they're a tire fire, but you play who is in front of you
Fairness? What?
Would you be mentioning "fairness" if they got swept?
What a weird and negative stance during a seven game winning streak.
(whispers back) you mean Cashman and Girardi might know what they are talking about? Can't be.....

(what if Hicks is actually decent?)

WHAT HAVE THOSE GUYS EVER WON!?!?!?!

But I have been shocked by Headley. I thought he was finished as a productive player.
Me too and I was actually in favor of the trade for him and re-signing him way back when. He should be batting 2nd, though.
