Time to nut the fuck up. That showing on Sunday was a freaking abomination and I hope the boys are disgusted enough that they come out with a fire in their belly.
Will the squad show they got something between their legs? Will we score a fucking goal on home fucking ice in the fucking playoffs? Who the fuck knows, but this is the season tonight because I don't see this squad coming back from down 3-1
No word on line-ups changes yet. It's nut up or shut up time, gents.
Let's fucking go
He looks like a guy who doesn't want this season to end any time soon and is going to do everything he can to keep playing well into the spring. Love what I'm seeing from him.

He is playing well, but man we've got to get these Centers going. We have just 7 goals on Carey Price in almost 13 periods of hockey. I think the 4th line has 3 of those goals and Grabner has another. We have to start solving him, which means Stepan / Mika / Hayes (and Kreider / Miller) really need to join us this series.
Hopefully Weber will start somehow wearing down (I doubt it but a man can dream). He's been logging Duncan Keith minutes this series (nearly 30/game).
On the plus side, Girardi has been passable. I'd even venture to say he's been pretty good in most of these games.
Well that settles it.
but they do get one back on their 2nd shot of the game.
Washington takes two penalties in the last 5 seconds to give Toronto a 5-3 to start the 3rd
I wonder what it is about Bruce Boudreau - the guy can coach teams to 100+ point regular seasons in his sleep, and then the playoffs happen...
Boomer just said it and I see it on ESPN as well.
Leafs I don't think anyone thinks they'll go too far this year, especially with their D injuries - but they've proven they're going to be a force in coming years. Future is bright.
I'm surprised how poorly Holtby has played. He's still young and of course if he plays us in ECF (lips to God's ears we make ECF), undoubtedly would be lights out... but Holtby doesn't get enough shit for his postseason track record to date, IMO.
Yeah, and a career 1.97 GAA in the playoffs.
He does't get shit about his postseason track record because it would be undeserved.

Isn't Holtby the all-time leader in post-season save percentage?

Oh fine... but he was badly outplayed in the Penguins series last year and has looked awfully average in this year's series.
so there.
Holtby hasnt been great in this series vs. TOR - but he's also faced more shots than any other goaltender in these playoffs which is probably worth noting.
Also 6-11 career playoff OT record. Maybe its a bit like us where we just don't generate scoring chances in our OTs and Holtby's been unlucky, but he's yet to prove he can play at his best when the pressure is tense and everything is on the line.
Blysma and Murray were fired in Buffalo.
LOL
LOL
Do it, sissy.

I would, but I prefer to avoid confrontation, rather than incite it. Plus someone would start a Rangers fan thread and then I'd be left posting to myself.
If Eichel really told Buffalo that he wouldn't extend if Bylsma was retained, then that was that, as they say.
LOL
Only if I'm allowed to start complaining about the refs before I even have lunch.

LOL, I'm kind of surprised no one has complained about the refs post-game press conference.
sandpaper.
Arent you used to that by now? Admit it, this series is heaven for you - all those MTL posts everyone ignored throughout the regular season, now you post and its somewhat relevant to what we care about so we respond. You need this series to go 7 games. An Ottawa series would just be so boring for you.
When the ginger is good and ready, not a moment before.
Ginger starting a game thread with the fans tonight in a sea of red sounds like a good omen to me too. The only thing that can fuck up this momentum is an AV (forwards) lineup change versus what worked in g4.
Some of the sweating was a result of, in my opinion, a very bad no goal call on a phantom goalie interference. But even with that the Caps need to toughen up and not let that matter. They DID do that to a degree last night. I'll take any kind of win, though. Caps played with urgency last night instead of being scared.
Good luck to you Rangers fans tonight.

Guilty. If the Rangers lose I'm afraid there will be a lightly viewed playoffs thread that I'll be posting to myself mostly on. Sort of like the World Hockey Juniors thread that had pganut, me and one or two other people. Mostly pganut and me conversing back and forth.
but I don't want the Rangers to win, so I'll live with it, but I won't like it.
All 7 Islander fans have a collective stroke :-)

You miss Spock. Admit it.

Right now, if you had to pick Caps or Pens, who would pick the Caps? I wouldn't.

Looked to me that the Toronto goalie made contact with Backstrom on purpose. He actually wrapped his arm around Backstrom's leg at one point. These goalie interference calls are more often than not called incorrectly by the three blind mice.
Ottawa up 3-1
Washington going at least 6 with the Pens upcoming if they get by Toronto
I really wish we won Game 2.
Not that this is specific to the PP, but Steve Valiquette had an amazing analysis of Price’s tendency to drop to his right knee first which leaves the 5-hole and other specific areas susceptible to dirty dirty goals. Game 4 showed 2 5-hole goals and if the Rangers are sticking to the behind the net style PP, it may be beneficial to try more wrap arounds or just crash the net from different angles to throw it low.
Without a doubt he's the most borderline player on the Canadiens, a team with Andrew Shaw, Brendan Gallagher, and Steve Ott.
Yes, I've been telling you guys for years they are.
The US went undefeated in the play-in round.
Good place to catch some draft eligible players. A guy in Switzerland is supposed to be top 5 (Nico Hischier)

US Team has a lot of speed and it's only accentuated by the large ice surfaces.
