Giants to look into adding him. He played really well in limited touches. He even had a higher YPC than McCoy running behind the same lines both times. Great value for only a 5th round pick.
It's a win/win from Little Bill. Either they get the player (with whom they are familiar from playing twice a year and scouting) and at the same time take him away from their competition at a price they are comfortable with under the cap. Or they force the competition to sign them at a cap figure which was not of their choosing. The Pats are a machine.
The Boston Herald reports the Bills are unlikely to match New England's two-year, $6.4 million offer for RFA Mike Gillislee.
Yikes. It means the Bills are likely to lose an RFA to the Patriots for the second straight year after 2016's Chris Hogan deal. An extremely valuable backup behind LeSean McCoy, Gillislee could have been tendered at the second-round level for just $1 million more. As it stands, Gillislee will net the Bills a fifth-rounder if they indeed can't match.
They have Lewis, White, & Burkhead, all similar RBs. I guess he intends to go with 4 scat backs and no traditional 2 down back. No workhorse, just rotate them in & out...

Is it possible he could be more than that? He's listed at 5'11 219 lbs, that's pretty big for RB. 208 lbs at draft 4+ years ago. That's bigger than what Tiki and McCoy are listed at. I don't know if he can run inside, haven't seen him much. I'm not sure he's gotten much an opportunity either though. He's been used as a change of pace hr hitter, but maybe he's capable of more?
If the Pats are going to pay him that he'll be more than just a backup for them. You can bank on it. he'll be a regular part of their committee approach and that warrants this level of contract.
Certainly looks like Blount is no longer a Pat.....

I'd also love if we could add Blount and not spend a pick at RB.
