1. If you liked the movie Fargo, you will like the show which is similar in style, cast quality, and nature.
2. If you didn't see the movie, it's a black comedy about unwitting people getting in way over their heads with major criminal elements while a law enforcement completely unprepared and inexperienced for the level of mayhem that ensues.
3. The show reminds me of a Rube Goldberg contraption where things take the most absurd and ridiculous twists and turns to arrive at an endgame.
Can you give me a few sentences on why I should watch Season 1/2?
One of the best ever TV shows. Dark humor - half the time laughing and half the time jaw dropped from the killings. And (season 1), Billy Bob Thornton is the best serial killer actor ever. Who stabs a guy in the back of his head as he's screwing the brains out of a hooker? Or blows away a cop because "he's there", or kills every person in an office complex on all three floors while it is under watch by the FBI.
To me - it's hilarious dark humor
Can't wait for season 3 to begin tonight. The bar was set awfully high in season 1, but season 2 did pretty good.
It's an anthology series - each season has a different cast of characters, plot, even time period. Only one character was featured in both seasons, but 35 years apart and played by different actors.
Looks totally hot in the preview......didn't realize who she was. Was the sister in Gone Girl to Ben Afflack.
She reminds me of the chick that played Dexter's cop sister........
Do you have to understand the first two seasons to watch the third?
Absolutely not. Each season is a completely different story with a completely different cast. The only commonality is the general location in the middle of freakin nowhere and usually filled with snow and oh yeah, very dark humor
I think someone on this thread summed it up well when he mentioned, "small town folks get in way over their head", which of course is because a serial killer comes to town and befriends a loser and teaches him to kill when things don't go the way you want them to, and a police force more used to writing parking tickets.
But I believe they are connecting the stories together although it's more of the Easter egg variety. The kids in season 2 were almost certainly the brothers from season 1. Not a biggie though.

Fantastic television.
BBT was fantastic in S1.
I thought the 2nd season was even better. Watch it, you'll breeze through it in a few days. Great story and characters
I found a short fan made trailer that doesn't give it all away, but gives a little taste of the story
Fargo (Season 1) fan made trailer - ( New Window )
