Anyone watch this? A very dark series to say the least.
one of the few that I actually sat there and binge watched over the course of a few days. The actors for Clay and Hannah really helped to make the show but they're all good. Yeah, it's kind of dark but it should be. I think it'll practically be required viewing in high school classes soon.
It was very dark. Ill admit i watched all 13 episodes in 1 day
I just caught the last 30 minutes of the finale. Pretty intense.
Wife and I watched and just finished up last night. It was pretty good. I think the soundtrack was exceptional. Definitely worth watching.
Apparently, they were given a list of things to avoid showing because they were considered triggers that could push a troubled individual toward suicide. Instead of avoiding those triggers, the filmmakers chose to INCLUDE every one of them.
So no, I don't see it being a required viewing in high school classes.
Kids at that are so impressionable so it's always a risk in addressing the matter. Still, the big themes of social interactions, rape and suicide should be discussed. Those kids were really up against some lousy circumstances.
Not sure about the delivery of the message though.
Hey kids, if you kill yourself, just think about how sorry everyone will feel.
For someone dealing with depression, bullying, and loneliness, that feeling of potential revenge could be enough to push them over the edge.
