ROUND ONE – TYUS BOWSER, LB, HOUSTON. Edge rusher with excellent coverage ability. 8.5 sacks and 12 TFL in just 12 games last season. Phenomenal combine. Missed five games last season because of a fight with a teammate in which he did not throw a punch.
ROUND TWO – DEMARCUS WALKER, DE/DT, FLORIDA STATE. 25.5 sacks and 35 TFL the last two seasons. 2016: 68 tackles, 16 sacks, 21.5 TFL, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 passes batted. Eight passes total batted during his career. Big games against Mississippi and Michigan last season. “Stack and shed” DE who won’t be able to “bend the edge” or “run the arc” in the NFL. Also somewhat heavy footed, with limited lateral range. But he has excellent pass rush moves, and should be an effective 3T DT on passing downs. Reese has been searching for a 3T DT for years. Had foot surgery to remove a bone spur, but seems fully healed. Team captain.
ROUND THREE – ISAAC ASIATA, G, UTAH. Tremendous run blocking guard, who should compete immediately for RG. 35 reps, most of any OL at the combine. Three time All Pac-12 selection. Pugh, Richburg, and Fluker are all FAs next year. It’s unlikely we’ll be able to resign all three, and given what guards got this year in FA, Pugh may be the most likely to leave. Asiata can replace Pugh.
ROUND FOUR – JEREMY CUTRER, CB, MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE. Never saw him play, but is considered to be one of the best “sleeper” CBs in the draft. 6 INTs and 22 PBUs in the last two seasons. Reese was at his pro day. 6’2”, but only 170-180. Was made homeless by hurricane Katrina. Failed to qualify academically twice at LSU, but has good play recognition, and football IQ.
ROUND FIVE – ANDREAS KNAPPE, OT, CONNECTICUT. 6’8”, 325. Massive LT prospect. Sy thinks highly of him. That’s good enough for me.
ROUND SIX – SETH RUSSELL, QB, BAYLOR. Broken vertebrae in 2015, and a gruesome dislocated ankle in 2016. Also comes from a spread offense. But he throws a beautiful ball with touch, and is very mobile. The Giants met with him, probably to check on his health. I think his ankle is either fully, or at least 85-90% healed.
Highlights 1
Highlights 2
ROUND SEVEN – PAUL MAGLOIRE, JR, LB, ARIZONA. Hybrid LB/S. Team leading 81 tackles in 2016. Also had 5.5 TFL. Excellent run defender. The Giants met with him, and need more depth at LB, since only B.J. Goodson, Ishaq Williams, and Curtis Grant are under contract after 2017.
Bowser is an animal
Nice job Acid Test...
bowser is a reach in rd 1. i like him but like i said yesterday i think he fits a 3-4 better then a 4-3
i like getting 2 Offensive lineman, interior and exterior.
dont think walker will still be on the board when the giants select in rd2
I think they would take Bowser. You aren't taking into account that Bowser is a playmaker off the edge.

Bowser is believed to be flying up draft boards. He may not make it to 23.
I believe he is a difference maker. The OL that should be available at 23, (with the exception of Lamp) are not difference makers imo.
In the 4th I would think about Brian Allen CB Utah. He needs a little coaching to harness his elite athletic ability. Given the quality of CB's on the roster he has the ability to become outstanding press corner comparable to Sherman.
In the 7th I would look at Jimmie Gilbert LB Colorado or Darius English LB South Carolina either can add weight and strength becoming impactful with coaching.
