Forum Mock Draft Results

scarletgiant : 4/20/2017 11:34 am
Hey everyone, continuing the inundation of mock drafts this time of year, I thought I'd share my results from a draft I did on another forum, with 31 other people participating. (similar to ours here). My results for the Giants were:

1 - 23: David Njoku, TE, The U

2- 51: Caleb Brantley, DT, Florida

3 - 87: Cameron Sutton, CB, Tennessee

4 - 140: Kareem Hunt, RB, Toledo

5- Caleb Brantely trade

6 - 207: Avery Gennesy, OT, Texas A& M

7 - 241: Tashawn Bowers, DE, LSU

My own reaction:

I'm thrilled with the first 4 guys, I think they fill needs for us. I know it seems Njoku won't be our pick in real life, but he provides such another great weapon not only now, but down the road. Brantley is a disruptive pass rusher from the DT spot, compliments Snacks nicely. Sutton can be groomed as the NB and provides great return ability. I'm a huge fan of Hunt, bruiser who has good balance and doesn't fumble.

Gennesy and Bowers are projects at positions of need.

I traded our 5th to move up 4 spots to grab Brantley. In hindsight, I think he would've fallen to 55, and it's my one real regret. In a deep draft, I wish I didn't give up the 5th rounder, but it is what it is. I'm happy with how it played out.

Comment, question and critique away!

but I thought Brantley had really bad interviews at the Combine, likely to drop. Really like Njoku and Hunt, unfamiliar with Sutton. The rest are always crap shoots.
Though I'm not on the Njoku bandwagon

That's a good draft. The DT and CB picks are just what the D needs and are good values. Hunt seems more like Perkins than a heavyweight type so I'm not sure that fills a real need. An OL or WR would be better there.

Don't know about Sutton at 87 though.

He seems to be in that range though there's a kid from Central Florida, Shaquill Griffin that would be a good fit there as well.
