probably Bolles but only because I think Giants should be in win-now mode and I think Bolles would be decent in pass protection for a few years. I see him as the high floor guy
I'm not sure whether one or the other has the versatility to play in the slot as well as outside, so it's a hard choice for me. But the CBs may be the chalk picks of the available guys at 23. Weird.
Sure seems to be a defensive draft...DBs, DTs, Edge Rushers.
a lot of football. But he's got long arms and pretty good feet, and likely has the frame to grow into his body more (although at 25 you'd think he'd be heavier by now).

Charlton would be my second choice
Bolles wasn't a very good pass blocker in college.
Mainly by process of elimination. I don't like what I've seen from Taco -- he's gonna bust if I had to bet on it. Cunningham's upside is decent supporting cast guy at the next level, if that. Not what I'd spend 23 on. Bolles just doesn't do it for me. I think he's too close to OL prospects who can be had later in the draft.
I wouldn't want to take another CB high but a talent like Conley could really make the defense tough. I don't know how teams could pass with any sort of consistency on that defense.
I think he's the best player in that bunch and you'd be keeping a pipeline of talented players at the CB spot and it would make DRCs departure easier to handle. There's a desire to add someone to the OL, unfortunately I don't think there's a quick fix available in this draft. Like I said, I think Conley is the best player in that group and CB is almost always a position of need, even when it doesn't appear to be so.

But anyhow...
Conley I believe is going to be the best player out of that group. If you are true BPA, I think he's the guy.
That said, I think Taco helps the team and will be a very good player.
But Bolles is the guy I would take, because it is very difficult to find left tackles, and he has the upside of being a very good left tackle in the NFL, and it's an area that not just the Giants, but a lot of teams are in need of. Quality OL is so scarce. I think I can get a good pass rusher at 55. I think I can get another pretty good corner later in the draft. But I think Bolles is the best match of need, positional scarcity, and value.
But best player... Conley is, I think, going to be a shut down corner. I think right away he's going to be a good player, and will have a tremendous career. Tough call, I'd go Bolles, but you can make a very strong case for Conley and Taco.
One concern I have with Bolles is that, imo, he's only a LT
or nothing else. I don't see him being an effective OG, or having the power of an ideal RT. If he can't become a competent LT you've got a bust. Even Cam Robinson, whom I have doubts about, likely could play both OG and RT for us if he couldn't win the LT job.
Isn't a lesser need than DE on this team. IMO it's Bolles but since I have zero faith in DRC staying healthy. So even if he continues to get limited snaps the top CB on the board is totally acceptable.
I love DRC but he's not reliable. The Playoff game he we t down and that back field seemed to fall apart. JPP Ans Vernon are doing nowhere. DRC needs to be replaced sooner than later. A pass rusher unless he'd an OLB is getting 10 snaps a game.
Tackle or DB.
Conley could be the first corner off the board in a loaded CB draft
and it isn't close. JPP is signed for a bit but no guarantee he plays 16 games and may never be the force he once was. OD is a huge ? mark going forward, RO is still very RAW.. Charlton gives us a Justin Tuck like player who could flourish learning from OV and JPP...
high (and to be honest we don't know what the actual NFL teams think) because the OT lot is pretty average. CB again makes no sense unless that player is head and shoulders above others and at this point none of those guys screams that to me. Cunningham is a "meh" guy... Charlton is a guy with Pro Bowl potential...
is Bolles a better LT right now that Ereck Flowers ? if the answer is no then there is no way that you take him. I would go Taco Chartlton
I don't look at it that way. First, need serious competition for Flowers otherwise I am handicapping his true level of incentive to improve. Second, Flowers could get hurt and what the hell are we doing then...need another Tackle.
And lastly, Bolles could be better than him right now anyway.
Like Charles Harris over Taco Charlton. Harris seems to be more of a pure speed rusher with that great first step that gets tackles off balance right at the snap. This guy will cause a lot of false starts and holding penalties.
shouldn't prevent us from taking the much better player (if the Giants deem someone else better). Huge mistake taking a guy that isn't up towards the best player just because we have a weakness. Do that in any other round.
"I'm not sold on the Giants' offensive tackles, but for now, I'm going with a pass-rusher who can spell Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon. Harris is a versatile defender who could play for all 32 teams. He had 16 sacks the past two seasons."

Agree. That wasn't theme of this thread though...
I answered the OP, was just commenting on taking Bolles due to the chance of him being better than Flowers as potentially being a mistake.
Taking Bolles because he could better than EF is not a mistake
There are a lot more options than just the few that have been listed here. Not a real fan of any, but if I had to pick one of these, it's probably Conley.
I do think that there will be other options who will be better fits for NYG imho.
Not "cut the bastard" bad. But have commented that it would be simply reckless for Reese & Co. to go into next season with the default that Flowers is the left tackle.
reckless...

Agreed ..ideally the replacement/upgrade should have come in free agency. And unfortunately the reports are that this is a weak group of tackles this year. There are no Laremy Tunsil type players in this draft.
if that was what was left at 23 i assume in that scenario that both howard and njoku are off the board as i want one of them if they are still there at 23,failing that i would hope they could maybe grab shaheen in the 2nd round they need more production and threat to opposing defences from the TE position especially in the redzone where they settled for kicks too often last year
want an OL,TE,CB and DT with the first 4 picks flexible about the order but i hope they address those areas early

So what's your solution? Draft a guy that can't play just to say they drafted a tackle? I'm not saying Bolles can't play, but if the Giants feel that way, you want them to spend a first on him? THAT would be reckless.
The solution is to find another Left Tackle. The options as always are
Charlton would be my second choice

Same for me but I'm leaning Taco.

Not so much on the rest...
OT GARETT BOLLES UTAH
LB JARRAD DAVIS FLORIDA
TE ADAM SHAHEEN ASHLAND
DT CARLOS WATKINS CLEMSON
G AVIANTE COLLINS TEXAS CHRISTIAN
S JOSH HARVEY-CLEMONS LOUISVILLE
RB TARIK COHEN NORTH CAROLINA A&T
Would love to have some extra picks, would loved to have drafted a QB but just ran out of picks. Here to hoping that the Giants have a great draft.
This is true if Bolles is a better LT than Flowers.
Conley or King have the better chance of improving the team.

If the Giants choose not to use any of these options than that is reckless in my view based on EF's progress.
