Bye weeks

AnnapolisMike : 4/21/2017 9:01 am
The Giants got the short stick when it comes to playing teams coming off a bye with no advantage themselves. The game it really hurts is @Denver which just became a very difficult game. I don't think the league did this to punish the Giants, but it is just he way it panned out.

As for a solution . . . Why not give the four teams in each division a bye week together and have them play each other coming out of the bye? Or at very least have the teams coming off bye weeks play each other. It eliminates a competitive disadvantage.
never thought about it, other than to get pissed

when we get someone off a bye, like the pokes. but that is a good solution.
Although I've never read it anywhere,

I'm pretty sure they don't give a whole division a bye on the same week, is due to TV ratings. My first choice is to always watch an NFC East team (hopefully lose) a game when Big Blue isn't on.
Are you bringing common sense into the NFL?

That is not allowed. What would also make a ton of sense is to have 2 bye weeks built into the schedule that way teams don't have to play short weeks for Thursday night games. It gives the players more rest. It extends the NFL season by a week creating more revenue and then has the Super Bowl the Sunday before President's Day so it is like a holiday weekend.
Now that there is a thursday game every week

They should really just incorporate those into the bye week. Instead of a week off, they get two week and a half breaks. The Bye should always be the sunday before the thursday game.

So you want 2 teams to be off every week, including weeks 1 and 2? I'm sure teams will love that.

One bye week is enough IMO. And I understand about having all the teams from a division off on the same weekend....so just make it that the 4 teams off...play each other coming out of the bye. I do like the idea of divisional rivals playing each other after bye weeks. No excuses.

Schedules are never going to be equal...and I like the overall setup of the Giants schedule this year. But catching 4 teams off their bye weeks is a little much.

I always liked the idea of 2 bye weeks with 16 teams week 8, 16 week 9.

It's fair and ensures 8 games both weeks.

Who said anything about more than one bye week? And did you read the post I was responding to?

2nd bye is coming as soon as they agree to an 18 game schedule!
