Who's got a record like his - Casillas doesn't have the longevity, Neuer needs like another decade to catch up, and Peter Schmeichel has a Champions League and the 92 Euro, but not much with the World Cup.
The problem with that is usually the accolades come because the team is very good and therefore do not give up many chances. There re so many great goalies out there and many play on teams that aren't very good.

Neuer brings up the name I missed - Oliver Kahn!! Right now that's buffon's only equal I think. And Neuer right now is head and shoulders above any other goalie.

A bit exaggerated - he played into the 2000s and was on the Bayern team that lost to Manchester United in the 99 UCL Final. I've seen decent footage :)
but Neuer is so technically sound and has the instincts of going to the ball, that he's the best keeper I've seen play.
He was already up there prior to the Madrid games. During those games I continually text a friend of mine and told him Neuer is the best GK I've ever seen. If they had just about anybody else in the World Real Madrid would have scored 10 goals combined. He stood on his head and still allowed 6. What a beast he was. If we would have lost I wouldn't have even been mad, because they Neuer deserved to go through.
