I said it when they drafted him that he isn't a good fit for their defense. He is a 4-3 DE not a 3-4 DE. I think Myles Garrett would have the same exact issues if he was asked to be a 3-4 DE
The guy was a stud coming out of college and looks to be finally "getting it" in the NFL. Early injuries topped with playing on the other side of the best DE in football didn't help. He was a pro bowler and second team all pro this year, so by that alone, he would still be a first round pick.
He is also only 24 years old, still a lot of football ahead of him.
last year. I do think he is more of 4-3 DE, and playing opposite of Watt should open up more things for him. He is the most sought after recruit in the history of sport from an NCAA level. I don't see why he wouldn't be a top 5 pick, if not #1.
Although he looks like he's made somewhat of a recovery, it would still push him down the draft board. Prob mid-late first.
I may be wrong but IMO no wayyyyyyy in hell does he make it out of the top 5 if even the first 2. He was a Great last year.
He was but he'd be flagged as a medical risk. That's a MAJOR surgery that has shortened many careers (Kenny Phillips and our Steve Smith). I go the other way and say that there's no way he gets drafted top 5.

Fair enough, great point about the specifics of the injury. As well his work ethic was in question. I think either way Garrett would be taken before him.
That Clowney wouldn't have been top 3 overall, never seen a more physical player coming into the league at any position, Calvin Johnson Jr was close, Garrett is too but no cigar.
While a healthy Clowney is scary, he sometimes rushes like he is trying to avoid an injury to his knees.....I think that is in the back of his mind, to get that next big contract.....sometimes his speed gets him to the qb/rb so fast, he doesn't have time to think about it.....
Last year IMO. Dude was a force. Mack and Donald have a long lead right now, but I would not be suprised.. Hell, I expect Clonwey to surpass them as NFL players. Clowney is my darkhorse for DPOY this year.

The draft would go DE and then DE. No doubt about it.

Agreed with KWALL. No question in my mind...
Exactly. Clowney would go first overall. He's awesome.
