Yup, same as last year...only it seems worse. I was really hoping they'd look to improve on this that going into this year but it's this is apparenfly their MO.
High K, low OBP, low AVG, low runs, etc...but a lot of HRs.
Not saying Cespedes and Duda were on fire anyway but we are seriously shorthanded for this series. TDA banged up only adds to it. We are getting swept this series and will probably suck for the remainder of the month. April can't end soon enough
Our hitting is flawed, it ain't the cold. Not sure what going from April 30th to May 1st is going to do. Just have to wait it out until the bats get hot before they go cold again. I mean, injuries plays a part but we weren't exactly tearing it up before the injuries.
I truly feel that this lineup can bang with any team out there.
But the coaching and hitting strategy does this team offense a disservice.
I'm getting tired of hearing Bruce say "it's only April" after every game. Not that he's necessarily wrong but a little sense of urgency would be nice.
I'm getting tired hearing Collins' excuse for the losses being "we are not hitting HRs." How about you create some runs without the HRs, chief?
That's all there is to it. Very allocation of funds:
Wright: they signed him for political rather than baseball reasons because he was the "face of the franchise." He had already had back issues. So 20 million wasted unless they recoup some thru insurance.
Walker: Sandy must have been smoking crack when he gave this guy 17 million, especially since he had about five other guys who could play 2B. Imagine if they had used this money to get Greg Holland.
Duda: Again, why did they retain him when they had Bruce to play 1B and and OF that was already too crowded?
Sandy doubled down on the HR/high K rate plan and it looks like it has backfired. Future still very bright with Conforto, Rosario, Cecc, Smith. Maybe this becomes the year to clean house and start fresh. Plus, I still think they find a way to make playoffs.
Turner
Harper
Zimmerman
Murphy
Rendon
WIeters
Taylor
Gio Gonzalez (Lefty) too bad Wilmer is out.
Merandy Gonzalez has 20.2 IP this year without allowing a run. He's the only pitcher in pro ⚾️ (MiLB or MLB) to accomplish that this season.
Mets still waiting for their first hit.
Fixed, lol

Let's see what f we can get something going here.
Good call
If #Mets dont rally here in ninth, the 8-10 start will be their worst since 2011, when they began 5-13.

#Mets team batting line & MLB ranks: .211 AVG (T-27); .291 OBP (24); .671 OPS (21). Second in HR with 27. Too much all or nothing.
