....after Army service, 7-year hiatus

Good for him. I remember when he retired. It was a head scratcher for me. I liked him when he entered the league. Was surprised he dropped to the 3rd round.

Class move by the Niners to release him. I'd bring him in to camp just to say thank you for your service. For that alone he deserves a shot.

Coffee's strange excuse for leaving SF was "The lord was telling him to do this". After returning to FWB he got in with the drug crowd, was arrested, and had a choice...jail or military.
Looks like his head is screwed on right, at least for now. Hope he is able to make it, even though at 29 there isn't much shelf life left for football.
