If Cleveland does not go QB with their first 2 picks

George from PA : 4/22/2017 9:08 pm
I can see the possibility that Cleveland would be interested in getting in front of Texas to draft one.

That would put the Giants in a great position. They can move back 10 spots to the usually desirable first pick of the 2nd day.

Could they get Joe Thomas? I would do it in a heart beat!

What would the draft chart get them?

The quality of player seems pretty even between 23 and 33 in this draft.

Is this just wishful thinking or a possible scenario?
Forget about Joe Thomas!

But the Giants could be sitting in an interesting spot to trade down with a team looking to trade up for a QB. You have Houston and Kansas City at #25 and #27 and the Browns and Niners at #33 and #34.

Has any franchise had a more futile effort in finding a QB?

It's been a disaster since Kosar.
Cleveland would be wise

to take Garrett 1st overall and trade down with their 2nd pick or use it on another position besides QB. They should build up the rest of the roster and trade down to accumulate some picks in next years draft when they will likely have another top 3 pick and will have their chance at Darnold or Allen. Their roster will be in very good shape then with a young franchise QB at the helm. Of course this is Cleveland so they will probably take Trubisky 1st overall.

The Jets have struggled at it since Namath it seems.

No it's embarrassing and another reason not to settle for Trubisky, Kizer, etc.
Next year's QB crop looks great.....Compared to this year
George from PA : 4/22/2017 9:50 pm : link
But that still won't stop 8 QBs from being drafted this year.

Cleveland drafted Johnny Football.....Lol. Jets draft someone every year.

No, but the Redskins are close. Brad Johnson was OK for awhile, and they have Cousins, but he may go as well.

Couldn't agree more

Let Kessler play this year
What is a QBs best friend. A running game and good OLine
There are no franchise QBs in this draft
Trade down

Take Fournette and Corey Davis first round
Build the defense with the picks in the second and third rounds
Offensive line is already in place

2018 QB. Either Allen or Darnold
Browns covet tribisky
CGiants07 : 4/22/2017 11:01 pm : link
.. supposedly
The Browns are pathetic
Anakim : 4/22/2017 11:05 pm : link
Justin Gilbert and Johnny Manziel. I mean two first round picks that are out of the league in less than 3 years. That's absolutely remarkable.

Danny Shelton and Cam Erving

Trent Richardson and Brandon Weeden. A FUCKING 28-YEAR OLD ROOKIE.

I really feel bad for the Dawg Pound. They're the most inept franchise in sports (though the Knicks are hot on their tail). It would not surprise me at all if they take Mitchell Trubisky over Myles Garrett. It would be such a Browns move.

The most hilarious thing about that was when the 2002 Superbowl had two Redskins QB castoffs facing each other. It was a smack in the face of Dan Snyder.

Without a quarterback I believe is the guy, I get one every year somewhere in the draft.
I really dont see
Glover : 4/23/2017 4:21 pm : link
the Browns not taking a QB with one of their top 2 picks. They have a wealth of picks, hard to believe they would wait til 23 to get the QB they want. Also dont see the Giants feeling there is no difference between 23 and 33 as far as selecting a player.
No Joe Thomas for you!

Ken O'Brien was pretty good, no?

Thats just not true. Ken OBrien was more than a solid qb for years and Chad Pennington was very good for half a decade. Comparing the Jets woth Browns in terms of futility in getting stability at QB is just not equivalent.
If I'm Cleveland
LakeGeorgeGiant : 4/23/2017 10:23 pm : link
At this point I'm just taking BPA and that's not a QB this year.

Does anybody really believe any if these QBs will shine in Cleveland?

Build up the talent and try for a QB next year, there's a better chance of getting a good one.

Pennington was legit, forgot about him, but O'Brien was a tease. And they passed over Marino for him. And Sanchez was another tease. The Jets and Browns suffered through different styles of futility. With the Browns it was utter failure, with the Jets it was flashes and then crushed hope. Except for Pennington, I'll give you Pennington.
