If I didn't get that quip in, someone else was bound to do so as well. It's just a reflection on how much of a caricature you've become on certain topics.
My guess is this occurence doesn't happen too often

Well, one poster at least. I'm still waiting to hear from you how OBJ is going to "really f*ck us." Do you think he'll interfere with your master plan of only playing rookie QBs in perpetuity?
about $8 million or so? WR's last year for picks 11-32 were just under $8 million.
Hopkins is getting $7.9M for 2017, so that's the baseline. Might be considerably more though ($8.5-9M) because a bunch of WRs have signed big extensions over the last 2 years, including Brown's recent deal.
That means 2 seasons at rookie deal scale and one year of big money but no security. Seems like Giants could reasonably expect to save a few bucks by offering a new deal at the end of this season. Raises some questions though.
How long can a contract be written for?
Is it ever in a team's interest to forgo 2 years of 1 year deals even if the franchise year has a big cap hit?
What's it worth to a player not to have to wait 2 seasons for his big signing bonus and no promise past the current year?
will retire a Giant (or least will play most of his prime years as a Giant). there is no way the giants will ever let him leave. on top of being a jerry rice level talent, he is the most exciting player in the league.
The Giants will get to his contract in 19 and not before
Headache to who? Old, self righteous fans? I'm thinking those headache issues probably have more to do with the case of Pabst Blue Ribbon and 16 shots of Mr. Boston vodka during the games than the angst that the best WR that has ever played for the team is giving you. But whatever gets you through the day...
...makes me wonder if there wasn't some verbal agreement on a long term deal to be announced after the draft. Otherwise I'm not so sure why he should be so excited to learn that they picked up the 5th year option. All it does is keep him under contract for another year at a salary which is much less than his free market value.
I think there's a very good chance that OBJ gets a long term extension this spring or summer. Is it better than a 50-50 chance? Hard to tell. Too many unknowns to consider. But there is a reason that the CBA allows for contract extensions after three years and it's so players who have significantly outperformed their rookie contract can be paid accordingly. And who can argue that OBJ hasn't significantly outperformed his rookie contract?
I'm not seeing anything in his tweets that stands out
Why dost thou speaketh thus? The Giants can still rip that up and sign a longer term deal with Beckham.

I'm just joking.
What? So we only want Beckham for when Eli is playing? We wouldn't want a good WR for the next QB?

You wouldn't want to spoil the young QB.

I have a lot of mental images here!
Not in the least. Makes complete sense to pick up the option.
It's funny...you post about me on threads I'm not involved in, but I don't give you a thought unless I'm talking directly to you.
The no-brainer would be to extend him now before camp starts.
Yeah, and I even laugh when they're funny.
I'm not clutching pearls here. Just if you're going to bring me and my opinion up out of the blue, at least try to be accurate.

Funny that Mara and Reese chose to tease the beat reporters by saying we'll discuss it when it gets closer to the date.

Must be everybody else. Not you.
Go Terps, Go Terps, Go Terps!
Why is it always about Go Terps?

In fairness those tweets were all at the same time and has since not posted anything.
